No trim setting is available yet, but it is on the list of features to add.
So doesn't seem like there's a linear thrust ratio between the rear and front engines for the entire throttle range. But if you nail that ~80% thrust value you can get the ship to hover quite nicely but it's going to ascend at around 25 m/s.
I can maintain around 0 pitch and 0 VSI for however long I like, and note the position of the stick meanwhile.

So when you're in space, you can get the ship to rotate forwards just as fast as you can backwards?
And you have checked both the Input visualiser and calibration utility that they indicate a full forward and backward range on the stick? And that the zero point really is at the centre.
for the sake of arguement, yes I've done all that. I'm using the Thrustmaster hotas warthog and I played a lot of flight-sims, so I would definitely notice if one of my control axis' was acting up like that. even insured that the two toe brake axis' of my rudder pedals were unbound in the game.
Like I mentioned, this weird pitch down force only happens while hovering in Vtol mode. and when transitioning from hovering into forward and level flight. no puffs of RCS thrust when I'm landed or in space and my hand if off the stick. and when I let go of the stick while in a hover, the RCS shuts off as expected but it still pitches forward on its on.
