Random Loot Generation
I was just wondering if anyone had worked out when random loot is generated? Is it the first time you enter a map, enter the map area the chest is located in, or is it a seed generated when you start the campaign for the first time?

You can change the outcome of certain chest by saving before opening them. Same for vendors stuff. Always save before talking to a vendor or opening a chest.
Pretty handy for the first few ones to get some weapons you need ( Like Two Handers )

There are several chests I know for a fact randomly generate loot based on several playthroughs. They do not change their loot based on save scumming. I tested full saves and quick saves. Save scumming saves before entering the area with the chests. I tested going to the world map and coming back on a save that hadn't even seen the chest yet. The loot is always the same except, thus far, starting a brand new campaign.

Unless someone knows better, it looks like the loot from chests are either a seed generated the first time you enter an area from the map or when you start the campaign.
