Bat Fight Trouble

I'm very very early in the game and in the coast cave bat encounter, my game has softlocked twice. I'm not sure what triggers it, maybe a menu or something, but after round one or two I see the "To The Death!" message again as if the fight is re-starting. Then I can't move any characters or take any actions, though the indicators still show up.

I've had to just force quit twice and lose a lot of progress. Is this something specific to this cave? Is it a general issue elsewhere?

I had 1 total freeze and 1 softlock during a battle with the acid spitting crabs in another cave early in the game too. As soon as one of the crabs are killed it just froze up. Only on the second time I went back did the game stop for about a minute then acknowledge an error report being created due to the issue. I could continue on after that.
