Solo run compendium
Been having some fun figuring out how to solo run this game. If you're into this, go ahead and tell us about which class and strategy you were able to do it with. It will help others who might want to do the same solo runs.

Currently you can solo run with:

Bard:

Learn invisibility and multi-attack as quickly as possible. Maximize backstab damage. Then backstab, turn invisible, repeat until everything is dead. Learn Lambent Dance for the catacombs and try to avoid as many fights as possible. Use a bow in the later game (you can backstab with it).

Battle Magos:

Learn summon magmite, and use them to tank everything. Use inferno to deal with large scale battles. Swarm of gnats for small groups. Magic missile is true damage and useful on enemies that are resistant.

Guild Magos:

You can use the exact same battle magos build. However, you can also use invisibility/thunderclap in the air magic branch. One thing to note about invisibility is that nothing will remove it, and you can drink as many potions as you want. It's really strong.

Hierophant:

Learn stunning touch and fight enemies in corridors, forcing 1v1 or 1v2. Learn Stunning aura and increase aura radius, so that you can stunlock everything on screen. Very mana hungry; buy all mana potions and get ready to rest for some restocks, too.

Ranger:

Start with second wind for an easy early game and use melee, then learn rapid shot, rapid reload, and point blank shot. You can buy arrows from Basilo, he will restock them. Buy all arrows you come across, you can never have enough. Don't bother with crafting; 1 arrow per rest is nothing compared to the thousands of arrows you will use. Stone/diamond form potions are your friend for difficult encounters.

I read in multiple posts about mentions of a Bard class - but I see no such options either in my game when I was selecting my starting character or in the Skaldcalculator. What am I missing here? I have the Reinforcement Pack as well.

Update: OK I'm (half-)blind - it is there in the game, it's just not there in Skaldcalculator for some reason.

Hierophant has passed the solo hard trial.
Ranger has passed the solo hard trial. Might actually be my favorite class, now. Shooting 5 times in a turn is pretty fun.

Do want to point out that rapid shot only works if you use it on your last action. Also the Critical Strike ability does not proc rapid reload.

I tried to solo awhile back with a ranger and was doing great until I got to one encounter I just couldn't seem to beat. Think I was playing on Hard. I may have not built it in the optimal way though I think I was very near the end of the game.

Was it this fight?

This is the hardest fight in the game. You want to drink a diamond form potion before the fight starts, and stand where my character is. Then you shoot the bottom two, because they are most threatening. They will eventually run out of magic, too, so you can either kill them or outlast them. As for why this works? Being 2 spaces away from them encourages different spells to be used, so the battle plays out in your favor.
