Recipes: Potion/Food Questions & Suggestions
I'm most of the way through my second play through. On the cooking side of things, I have never been able to figure out how to make use of honey, pears, snails, or squid. When hovering over snails, the flavor text gives me the impression that butter & garlic are the components it needs, but that recipe doesn't seem to be valid.

I know there are a subset of recipes (e.g. baked potato) that require fewer ingredients, but I still haven't found a solution for any of the above items. Does anyone know of valid recipes for them?

Regarding potions -- is there some way to craft the moderate or greater versions of the tonics (i.e. healing and atunement)? I can't find any base ingredients with the appropriate tags, nor have I found a way to successfully combine weaker potions in order to generate one. Does anyone know of a valid recipe for stronger versions of potions?

Questions aside, I have a few suggestions relating to potion/food crafting.

1. In terms of the crafting menus, it would be exceptionally helpful if ingredients auto-sorted themselves alphabetically; I can't think of a use-case where I wouldn't want this.

2a. As I have yet to find a recipe that is predicated on a finished item (e.g. a greater potion that requires a lesser potion), it would be ideal if finished products were not visible in crafting menus, as they clutter an already unsorted real-estate.

2b. Alternatively, if we can use lesser items to create greater items, it would make sense to keep them visible when crafting, but to then make sure that all potions were grouped together, rather than being sorted into a mixed pile with other ingredients (as we pick them up and set them down.

3. It would be nice if we had a setting that allowed recipes discovered in one game to transfer over to a game after this (only in cases where we beat the game). This would eliminate one of the more onerous processes in the game, without negating the need to do the initial work.

4a. This might be something of a personal preference, but it would be interesting if some of the more exotic/expensive dishes (e.g. pies) could be sold for considerably more. As it stands, there is little incentive to purchase ingredients for more expensive foods (completing the recipe), rather than just working off the cheap ones for sustenance. Being able to sell them at a profit (given the right merchant, diplomacy, etc) would be interesting.

4b. Alternatively, if some of the more extravagant foods carried a persistent benefit (e.g. +1 survival or awareness), that would likewise encourage players to do deeper experimentation / procurement strategies.

All that said, I really enjoy this game a lot. I'm on my second playthrough: ascending the plateau. Even money says I play the game again on hard. Whatvever the devs make next, I will support on principle, I've already gifted the game to others; it's a fine piece of work.
