How to get telescope from stargazer?

I am trying to get the telescope to trade for my gear back. There are no rock holds to go up the cliff and explored the cave inside the well where I found the skeletons of the children for that side quest. I don't see any extra paths that'll bring me up the cliff.

Pro tip:
For the evil crab cave search northwest to find a cave exit that will bring you to the top of the cliff area.

Work you way east to visit the star gazers camp area, it also has a rope you can use to make climbing back to trader hut much easier. Use the "fix rope" option to install the rope.

I figured it out. I didn't think you could pass through deep looking water. My fear of drowning steered me away from looking around the cliffs below around the water.
