can you get backstab bonus with a bow in this game?

Yes, they need to be in a vulnerable state or you need to be invisible or in stealth for it to trigger, so much like DnD, or if they are flanked two allies on opposite sides of them bottom and top or left and right.

You can right click on the enemy to see if they have the flat footed status to know if they are backstab-able.

If you are stealthed or invisible then you get backstab regardless of their status. I've heard there are enemies immune to backstab in this game just like DnD but I havent encountered them myself.

Yeah the backstab immune creatures don't turn up till towards the latter part of the game, but the first time they appear, they can throw you off a bit!

Backstabs are absolutely devastating too. By far the biggest numbers that I have seen come from backstabbing with a dagger or short bow!
