Thing thats killing me is I have a char that has +5 with a magic item but it seems to autoswitch to my main char for the dialogue (I had set up each party member as having a purpose, so another char is diplomacy) and my main character has +4 with the magic item. I'm actually thinking of using the console just for this event cuz I absolutely hate "auto fail quests because the main char is missing a stat, even though someone else has it" events.
Unfortunately that doesnt work. Its not a regular skill check like climbing, picking, forcing or whatever. Its in an actual dialogue part. Clicking on the character portrait or pressing q doesnt work. I even tried switching to the diplomacy character beforehand, and it snaps the active char to my main char right as the dialogue starts.
OP: I *think* after repeatedly reloading and playing around with various dialogue trees, if you follow a certain dialogue tree she doesnt get killed right there, but Im not sure.
EDIT: Nope, you fail. It looks like the only way is to have your MC pass diplomacy +5 or use the console.
