eg. I will click an on-screen button/tab, HEAR the click, but menu won't update. I have seen this with: A) camp activities on the rest menu B) going between tabs in the settings menu C) very specifically with trying to disable fancy lighting in the display settings, to try & work around the performance issues
This is obviously a software issue... keyboard input is registered immediately whenever you have that option, it's just mouse clicks that don't 'take'; & the game itself is obviously intended to be able to run on a potato.
I observed that disabling weather effects, anit-aliasing, & fancy lighting had more impact on fixing the issues than windowed vs. fullscreen personally
sounds like the same issue
Steam -> Settings -> In-game -> In-Game FPS-counter
We should at least have this sorted in the next patch as it's a very specific issue.
If the slowdown is during mercenary creation, we should have a fix by next week.
For generalized slowdown, is it happening in an area with fog effects? If so, try turning then off under Settings -> Display -> Weather Effects.
If this does not help I RECOMMEND A REFUND FOR NOW! I'm sure we can fix the issue as we go but I really don't want to give false hope. I'm a solo developer and things take time. The game will always be here for a repurchase once the issue is resolved.
It was disabling fancy lighting that had any positive effect rather than the weather.
