Lagging and Crashing
I've been noticing the past few months, when I use this in VR, if I look at it on my wrist, it starts to lag me out and even crashed me just now after the VRChat update. Anyone else getting this issue? It never happened till just a few months ago, I've had this since 2020 and even had these issues before.

Hi there!

Can you check the performance tab on the OVR Toolkit wristwatch? Specifically the VRAM value! This is usually the cause of stuttering.

As you said though, I'm afraid there hasn't been any changes on our side. :o
Either VRC/the worlds you visited got more intensive or something else may have changed in SteamVR or your system.

Are you on Quest using Virtual Desktop by any chance?
I actually saw some others report this same thing, but I haven't 'yet' see it reported outside of VD.

I use virtual desktop, quest is too limited for roleplaying in VR.

Hi guys,

Are any of you able to confirm if this issue persists using a Link cable, Air Link, or Steam Link?

I do have a Quest 2 for testing purposes but due to my WiFi I'm not able to use VD for testing.

Are you able to try any of those devices without using Virtual Desktop?

I'm afraid I only have a Quest 2 and can't test with VD as I noted, all my other headsets are wired. (Index, PiMax 8KX, PiMax Crystal, Vive, Rift CV1)

I have to use it, cause my headset wont run VRChat without it. I use the HP Reverb G2 headset.

I thought the G2 was wired? It can use Virtual Desktop? :O

It is wired, but to use any of my steam games, it has to use the Virtual Desktop.

Interesting, so I've been in touch with the Virtual Desktop dev regarding this, I'll update once I know more, sorry about this.

At this time... It's known that switching to Steam Link, Link, or Air Link will resolve the 'lagging' as it's seen. We're currently under the belief that something with Virtual Desktop's new input system is causing problems in OVR Toolkit, both me and the Virtual Desktop developer are cooperating to find a solution.

Sorry everyone, please be patient whilst we work through this!

In the meantime, you can try downgrading Virtual Desktop following these instructions from the developer:
"For users to test, they can install the previous Streamer (v1.32.9) and see if the problem goes away; they’ll need to manually delete the Updater.ini in the installation folder to prevent it from auto-updating"

If you do downgrade, let me know your experience!

Are you talking about the Steam Virtual Desktop? Not the one that runs directly on a headset to stream to your PC? I'm a bit confused why you need this version if so as I thought it was just a desktop viewer? :o
