Question

Is there a way to run this in openxr? I have been bypassing steamvr because of how laggy my vr games get when steamvr runs it eats up all of my ram and vram on my oculus quest 2.

I found a cool app that gives me options to run my games in openxr and I have seen massive performance increases compared to what I used to get.

It would be really cool if this could work with it I know its a long shot I'm not some programmer I used to dabble in c++ back when I was young and stupid and did stupid stuff as a teen on the webz but yea if anyone knows anything or has suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Hi there!

So the in a nutshell is that OpenXR doesn't 'yet' support overlays, so there's no way for us to overlap other applications with it right now. :)

just a quick question what app are you using to force openxr for steam games. as would like to try for poponevr as it plays much better on openxr from what ive been told and would like to try to see if there is any difference or not

I had to do a hell of a lot of digging I found Oculus Tray Tool and the other one was OpenComposite OXR the only problem with OpenComposite is I had to go into their discord as the new version wasnt connecting to the internet properly they sent me a older version that I broke down and checked for viruses and was clean virus total is friend more than gaggle er uh google.

If you have any questions about settings etc feel fee to let me know ill drop my discord and do my best to help I'm still learning it and testing other settings.

The ONLY problem I have is I cant run Zenith from steam any more it starts to run load on the pc side of stuff but wont load on the headset.

Haven't tried many other games yet due to me being addicted to tabor.

Aw, that's a shame. Games tend to run snappier on my somewhat inadequate hardware when I bypass the steamvr. I hope OpenXR will have the functionality in the future.
