OVR Toolkit

Stream chats.
Okay, so I've got this mostly set up and working the way I'd like. Great app, thanks for making it!

One quirk I'm still struggling with though is, how can I get a window that has ONLY the chat windows from either twitch , Mixer, or Youtube? I was trying with my Twitch stream and I can only seem to get the entire Twitch page.

Thanks.

Hey!

You can pop out the chat on Twitch, so it's a different window that you can capture by doing the following:

Or, you can use other applications such as Chatty. :)

Yeah, I've done that, but then it wasn't a window I could select...What does it show up as in the window list?

Should just show up as Chrome, Firefox, whatever browser you use I'd imagine!

Hmmm....Was actually using the Twitch app for Win10...I'll try just through a browser..Thanks!

Okay, so yeah, it works when using a browser. Sort of. I can now get the isolated chat window, however, when I try to apply it to a window in OVR Tools it's stretched out and deformed. I noticed that with every successive attempt to assign it to my left controller window, it would stretch more. So I backed out and instead of the narrow window I resized it to be more of the shape OVR Tools was making it. But when I went and tried again, the window was now twice as wide as before and half the height.

So what am I doing wrong? How do I get the window I'm adding to take the dimensions of the window I'm assigning to it?

Thanks.

Someone else reported this issue with pop-out windows in Chrome, but I was unable to reproduce it!

The issue happens because our window capture stuff finds the size of the Chrome window, not the window you have popped out. :(

I'll investigate this issue myself! In the meantime, I'd suggest using a dedicated app for displaying Twitch chat such as Chatty! Sorry about that!

Just as a note, the stretching issue is resolved in the latest beta build, should be in the default build in a day or two. :)

Ah! Okay! That makes sense. Well, I did find a work around. I just started using the Restream.io Chat WIndow because i"m looking at streaming to both Twitch and Mixer at the same time so needed that option. And it's working great in OVRToolkit. Thanks! I'm gonna hit you up on Discord for another couple, hopefully minor, questions.
