Switching keyboard language

Basically self explanatory. Is there a way to switch the keyboard language, because right now im using an ingame american keyboard which isnt even printing the correct letters when i press them while actually using a german keyboard.

If i try to sent an "?" where i would expect it on the keyboard it doesnt sent one, but instead a totally different letter from whats even showed on the virtual keyboard.

You can switch languages the same way you do on desktop, i.e. with shift+alt/shift+ctrl. However, there is no indication of current language, and displayed keyboard layout doesn't change, which is a pity. Touch typing in vr in non-latin languages is much harder than on desktop.

The keyboards are actually totally customizable! I'd suggest checking in the #keyboard-releases channel on our Discord to see if someone has already made a keyboard in your language first though!

I'm not sure one exists yet, the guy who makes the default layout made US, UK, and CZ layouts, and I believe someone else made a RU layout. It's easy enough to adapt the layout though and share the file for others to download. :)

Keyboards are created in Unity based on the keyboard template found in the applications files, or, by a template that was released in the #keyboard-releases channel! Hit me up if you'd like more info on this.

I'll be creating a wiki soon! That'll be a big help, just waiting for a friend to update his web server so I can install the wiki software... :p

As of the update released yesterday, there's now a keyboard selection UI in VR!

Click 'Select keyboard' from within the Global Settings menu and try that out! :)
