Pax Autocratica

Pax Autocratica

Need to fully automate some more processes
Didn't really buy the game to spend most of my time trying to feed my own guys. We need to have a more efficient assigning screen or maybe even an actual auto assign button where the highest rank will go and stick to one task.

Just seems like actual combat is a secondary idea to the game..

You can lock specific members into a position or workplace. Stock and Continuous production exist. I use both for capture rounds and endless emergency salads.
Yeah the downsides of those early salads though is the -2 morale every time they have to choke them down. I get it, but it's odd how the base ingredient doesn't have that side effect while the "prepared" meal is somehow worse.

Satiety and a push to get better ingredients. I feel it's like Cult of the Lamb's Grassy Gruel or Berry Bowls: better than nothing, but you really ought to get something better.
The people in your base can be assigned to specific buildings or work types, for example unassigning research and production so people aren't leaving valuable resource production to help unlock new tech or craft a gun. That said, it's incredibly tedious in its current format. The game needs a better dedicated UI for managing the work of the people.

You're trading morale for an increase in basic food stocks. It'd be kinda broken otherwise.

Well you are trading time/labor/opportunity cost for an increase in food quality. -2 morale is too punishing to add on top of it even if it's "realistic".
Also it feels bad. Early game bonuses should all be strict bonuses offset only by the opportunity cost.
Later on when the player has options it makes sense to have borderline broken bonuses offset by maluses or very situational benefits.
I consider this particular implementation bad game design.
I suggest adding a new recipe without the malus that gives a lesser bonus.

I'd agree if there wasn't a super simple recipe that already does that. You just need that purplish cabbage thing mixed with the same ingredient.
Heavens forbid one has to do a little bit of management in a management sim.

I'll admit that early game I had to do a few food runs to get ingredients, only focussing on the nodes to get ingredients... or just spend a few thousand credits on purchasing ingredients at one of the trade nodes and have your kitchen produce a few hundred meals.

Halfway in sector 2 and have a few hundred meals prepared.
The greenhouse and animal farm help out a lot.

It's just another challenge/threshold to overcome and nothing that should be patched or fixed. working as intended, just takes a bit of time and effort.
