humm, good question. I never realized that but to use nvidia surround you woukd need 3 identical screens, in a normal triple surround mode. try to connect some monitors before you buy them. It might not work.

You would need 3 outputs on you laptop for a start. If you have that then 3 identical sized/resolution monitors, yes I know there are methods in to tricking the system to use unmatched monitor sizes, just being practical.

If you laptop supports USB C and you have monitors that have USB C connectors then maybe it could be done.

The only other way I know of is via a GPU docking station but then you will need a good GPU.

A lot of laptops are not powerful enough to drive 3 monitors properly.

Most laptops dont have enough gpu power to run 3 screens, hell most pc don't either. What gpu/cpu does your 'gaming' laptop have ???

Ryzen 7 5800
3060
You might get trips running but you'd lose about 50% FPS Vs the single screen (assuming the same resolution as the laptop screen).
There were methods allowing you to "daisy chain" 3 screens via displayport cables but there has to be 2 displayport connectors on each monitor.
Another option is/was a splitter.
Both rely on the manufacturer setting them up to work in the right way.
I can't be certain of this all being correct anymore as it's been years since I was running trips but I did for over a decade.

Don't forget those are the laptop versions of the 3060 and r7 5800. Less vram etc. So that videocard might not have enough ram to push triples at a comfortable fps. My laptop rtx 3060 6gbs of vram wouldn't have enough umph. Maybe Very low settings etc. You would be better off getting a GPU Dock and doing it that way, as long as your laptop can even use a dock I believe you need thunderbolt? Been awhile since I've looked one up.

also here's a vid of a 3060 running ACC in 1080p triples
of course laptop 3060 is weaker than the desktop one but AMS2 is not as demanding as ACC, so it might work nice for you

according to this video, 3060 mobile (130W) can do ~70FPS @4k in AMS2 high settings (and way over 100FPS at medium 4k), so i think you'll be ok with triples FHD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Huyz3waY6_Y

Yeah I realise the difference but I'm going back a decade or more and I was bearing PC2 in mind which I ran on an R9 290X and later on a pair of them before switching to a Vega 64.
The general rule still holds, 3 screens reduces FPS rates by 50% compared to a single screen and the dual GPU setup didn't utilise the RAM on the 2nd GPU so it only had 4GB VRAM either way.
The 3060 laptop specs are 256 less cores than the Vega but faster boost clocks meaning both have similar raw power of ~13TFlops Vs ~14TFlops of the vega64 (11 for the dual 6970's).

Plus the Madness engine isn't THAT demanding given it's age, yeah sure the gfx has been improved since PC2 but the fundamentals won't have changed that much.

So thief_035's numbers are gonna be pretty much on the button.
The min requirements for PC2 & AMS2 are damned near identical btw min GPU gtx680 paired with an 8350, recommended is a 1080Ti with a 2700X.
The only difference is PC2 recommended GPU is a 1080..

So yeah the 3060 should easily hit well over 60fps (I'd guess closer to 85-90fps give or take a handful as that's what I got in PC2 on 3 1080p panels)..
