Logitech G29 works in game menu only. Please help

Did you set axis in control section and then calibrate?

When G-hub updates, i need to repeat those steps after every Ghub update

I did that. I even used custom wheel settings so I mapped all buttons and calibrated. Still when I close the game and try to play, the g29 works throughout selection then immediately stops once the race begins.

So sad I wasted money.

g29 here mate .. just works but occasionally drops calibration but rarely.

Not sure if will help at all but try going on steam, AMS2, properties, controller and disable steam input. Had to do that years ago for some reason and never had issues since. Know it's worked for others having wheel issues.

After doing that try again from scratch (calibrate etc) if doesn't help I don't know sorry.

Try deleting the folder Automobilista 2 under "C:\Users\{your_name}\Documents\Automobilista 2\
It will be written again when you start the game next time, but you will need to adjust all settings again. I had a similar problem with my wheel and this solved it.

Thanks alot for this but I tried already. The wheel will work today then stop working the next day. Same issue

Your wheel must be on and run it's self calibration before you launch the game.
AMS2 only runs peripheral detection during startup.
If it gets disconnected whilst playing for any reason you need to restart the game for it to register again.
Deleting the AMS2 docs folder should be your last option as you'll loose all car setups, replays and game settings.

are you plugging the USB into the same port each time? my mate has to setup everything again if he changes ports with that wheel

I just retired my Logitech setup because of the issues it gave me. It was amazing to just set my new wheel up without any problems and the configuration stuck between game restarts.

The issue is the interaction between AMS2 and G Hub is awful. As soon as the game starts my wheel would go slack and not let me calibrate the steering. I would close AMS2 and G Hub would redetect the wheel without issue. No other racing game I tried has this issue.

Yep! I packed up my racing setup as I couldn't play ams2. Tried dirt rally 2.0 but that game was made for 1993. Lol

I almost bought exocars but getting mixed reviews about the game. We need more recent awesome vr racing games.

I have the direct drive version but it works fine for me. Just make sure G-hub is open and your wheel is on b4 starting the sim.
If it still doesn't work then you will have to rebind.

I don't have these issues in other sims but there are solutions

Same problem here.

With 1.6 sometimes it's working in the game, and it stops working for no reason until I restart the game.

With 1.5 was what you describe in the first post.

No issues with other games.

With G29 I would abandon all racing games. AMS2 is one of the best sims for vr, your loss
