Absolute RUBBISH! Here's why...
1) Reiza have ALWAYS maintained that career mode will come when the Physics and handling are in a settled state.

2) The Dev update includes the note that career mode is coming in 2026.
It DOESN'T require you to buy ANY DLC's... NOT ONE..

3) You DON'T HAVE to buy the DLC's to get the upcoming career mode either, that will be free for EVERYBODY that owns the base game. so stop talking out your rear!

4) You don't HAVE to own the track DLC's to race them online or in the pre-defined championship modes, you can join ANY lobby at a DLC track so long as the host has selected a car that is in the base game.

5) As a result of No 4? Career mode will likely also not deny you access to the DLC tracks, just the DLC cars.

6) In a Codies EA game you'd get booted from the lobby INSTANTLY!

7) As for "greedy"? Reiza had just $400,000 in the bank when AMS2 launched 5 YEARS ago, their revenue in 2025 is listed at around $200,000, their plans have ALWAYS been along the lines of (And I'm Paraphrasing here):
"DLC sales will fund future development of the game, as such, development will continue as long as DLC sales bring in enough funds for us to continue it's development.." NO ONE is required to buy the DLC's but their sales have a direct input to the lifespan of the game it's THAT simple!

8) The TAA update incoming is free to EVERYBODY and DOESN'T require DLC ownership, it'll also reduce the already low demands on PC hardware due to having a lower overhead than SMAA or MSAA which are currently in the game. Giving you a FREE performance boost at Reizas cost NOT yours!
Nor does the MP overhaul and incoming HUD update, all of which costs time and money to develop, test and release.

9) They aint T10 or Codies who literally abandon games mid cycle in order to release yet another POS broken game every 2 years with the exact same flaws as it's predecessor!

10) Look what happened to BOTH of those companies Codies/EA and T10...
T10 losing half their devs and now only having a supporting role in the future Forza Horizon titles..
Codies? Southam Studio closed, Dirt series, Grid series, WRC series (license lost after just 1 game), Project Cars series?
All abandoned for good.
EA? Just been sold to the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Sliver Lake and Affinity Partners, the latter of which is lead by Jared Cushner Son in Law of Donald Trump.

11) So if you want TRUE greed? Go buy ANY EA game...
THEN you'll know what a greedy developer ACTUALLY looks like...

Read it again, I dont care, tired of this EA, EA EA constant DLC more money, its not just AMS its nearly all games, more money more money, a career mode is a fundamental part of the game and its purposely being left to last. I used to love AMS and MAS 2 and heavily mod but its sitting in the dust and not used now due lack of this so called amazing career mode that never releases, My post is not to have smart alecs like you respond who seem to think the work at AMS and should defend but directed at the developers to get a move on with the career mode. Remember Dud, its their money not urs, you should be upset.

I was just pointing out the date they said it would release, and the fact that it says that date in the Dev Update. If you think pointing out facts is defending Reiza then well that's your problem. If you are that upset about no Career mode yet why not post it on Reiza's forums, they don't tend to read Steam forums.
Just another whining impatient gamer. Move along folks!

If You're so tired of EA and game updates? Find another hobby.
In this day and age NO GAME is complete at launch.
The ORIGINAL timescale and planned lifespan of this game was 2020-2021 as per the original season pass.
As for EA this games EA ended on launch day 5 YEARS ago....
EVERYTHING after that season pass end date is additional content that took time and money to create, should they do this for free, FOR 4 YEARS????
In the run up to V1.6 they spent almost a YEAR building the car models, the track models.
Updating the entire worldscape and trackside items, updating the physics, the tyre models, the AI, the User Interface.
They wanted all of this settled BEFORE focusing on career mode, why? who's gonna play a career mode if the rest of the game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ s**tshow?
In the background there were ongoing negotiations with manufacturers and track locations.
All of this cost money to do, even the negotiations which involve LAWYERS, contracts and lengthy negotiations.
Choices HAVE to be made and priorities changed based on all of the above.
The final 8 MONTHS before it launched was taken up in testing, locating bugs that us beta testers found, resolving them and re-testing, then the next piece was added, tested problems discovered, located and fixed then more testing repeat and repeat and repeat.
All of that time they were relying on the income from the previous DLC sales and any newcomer purchases..
That process is why AMS2's updates are generally trouble free, sure minor issues DO slip through but the team don't suddenly sit on their rears and do nothing for months.
No they're right back to work fixing any issue that were missed or left as is to cater to the whiners screaming "WHERE'S MY UPDATE???".
Yet paradoxically and precisely because of their rigorous and exhaustive testing process this game is currently the 3rd highest rated racing game on steam.
Why?
Because every update is 99% stable and works as intended.
You want another GRID, PC3 or Forza Motorsport?
I.E. broken games on release date, regular fixed, scheduled updates that invariably break more than they fix (IF they actually fix what they claim they have), because they don't BOTHER testing beyond "Does it run on console?" "Yeah just but..." "OK fire it out and to hell with the consequences..." then in less than 2 years (Months in some cases) the company is dead in the water.
SMS closed and project cars a dead series.
Codemasters Studio at Southam shuttered for good, the award winning Grid series dead, Dirt series dead, Dirt Rally series dead, WRC series license lost after a single game in a 7 game contract, F1 license up for renewal in 2026-27 and likely to be lost.
T10 permanent staff HALVED, all contractors permanently let go, Forza Motorsport DEAD and the remaining devs used instead as a prop for Playground games and Forza Horizon.
Is this what you want from games?
Sounds like it given the amount of whining and vitriolic BS you're typing whilst ignoring the FACTS!
I've said this before and I'll say it again...
Go and actually READ an End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) you'll find, EVERY game has one.
Simply put you do NOT own ANY game, you merely have a license to play it, that's it, end of.
YOU are entitled to sweet FA at the end of the day.
The EULA allows the developer to end all support in a heartbeat and without notice.
Codemasters have used this for YEARS to rinse and repeat games with the exact same bugs every year to 2 years and end all support right after the final DLC is launched.
For the Grid games this was 6 MONTHS after launch and IMMEDIATELY after the final pre-planned DLC launched, then the devs move on to the NEXT POS cash grab.
Any remaining issues? "Tough t*ties! How sad too bad! We got your money and are running for the hills. And there's F**K all you can do about it cause YOU blithely and blindly agreed to the EULA without actually reading it! So what if we lose you as a customer, we don't care cause "Zere are ALVAYS more gamers!"
This is in part true, right up until they p*ss off enough of us that word spreads, gamers wake the hell up and boycott the company in droves!
If you don't like Reiza having to make money selling DLC's in order to fund their attempts to perfect the game and satisfy customer opinions and needs? Then fine, go play solitaire or minesweeper.
FFS! Let the chefs cook and give us the "Chocolate Gateaux" we all WANT and not the "turd sandwich" launched to a fanfare, with icing and frosting on top, some fireworks and a couple of sparklers jammed in the top... "OOOOH SHINEY!"
All the frosting bells and whistles are there for one thing... To disguise the fact you're about to take a big ol' bite out of a turd and you just paid £70-90 for the privilege!
The choice is yours.... practice patience or not, play AMS2 or not, support the developers and their families to make a living or not, play a great game or naff off and go play the broken POS supplied by the firms that have HUNDREDS of MILLIONS in the bank and who STILL f**k us over every chance they get?
Up to you innit...
LOL depends. If you're 49 then probably not. If you're 48, maybe.

The irony is strong with you...
I really dont know if you guys are real at this point. Some of the replys here looks like ai generated.

So, carrer will be likely to come next year. They are polishing the ai so the experience dont look like acc carrer. Also, theres a small chance to have a multiplayer carrer, but this was NOT said in the official channels, so dont get your hopes up.
