I got bored waiting for Reiza to implement proper gamepad feedback and control, BeamNG is so much better.
AMS2 has VR, but the horrible glitchy fences are a huge -ve, at least it has that in common with BeamNG though (the terrible AA, not VR).
I know the gamepad's wobble a bit but thats all you will get, play a car racing game, get a wheel i reckon hey. Its so much better mate seriously.
Lets not start the wheel argument again thanks. We know all about wheels.
Those of us that use gamepads use them for lots of different reasons, not just to annoy wheel users into once again saying "you need to play a car sim with a wheel because it's a car".
The game supports gamepads, and even mouse/keyboard.
If you knew anything about gamepad support and haptic feedback (which you don't appear to) you would know there is actually quite a lot that can be done to give a sense of what is happening between the car and the road. This just helps to increase the immersion when using a gamepad.
Games that do this well: rF2, AMS1, ACC, Diret Rally 1/2, Dirt 4, BeamNG.
Another one that utilizes cutting edge gamepad haptic feedback is WRC9 with the new PS Dual sense haptic triggers. https://www.google.com/search?q=wrc+9+ps+haptic+triggers
And no, they don't just "wobble a bit". Sure, it's not a wheel, but wheels also vary a lot in quality as well. Just because someone has a wheel doesn't instantly make them a better driver, there's a lot more to it than that.
AMS2 VR is generally great, one of the best implementations, but that's largely due to PC2/ME stock implementation. It suffers from the same weakness PC2 did, which is the crap AA in VR.
BEamNG would be great in VR, but sadly not available.
Uses a gamepad then complains about immersion. You might as well be trying to drive with a tennis racket.
Young people who do not drive IRL love to use controllers. It's what they are most familiar with. Once licensed though a wheel is the most natural interface for driving. Anything less is a handicap for a real world driver.
and by the way grandafam1...you dont own the game. No reason for you to comment unless you are trolling..
Maybe he races in real cars .... or plays another racing game. He still has a right to comment whether he owns the game or not. Although arguments about controllers vs wheels are boring as hell ....
This exactly. An intelligent reply, thanks.
90% of the benefits of simulation are mental, the control aspect is only a small part of it.
Just to repeat, as it seems some people have thick ears:
