Engine dying for no reason

No matter what car I use often the engine will cut out at some stage during a race, despite driving carefully. I have damage turned off. Gear shift works while the engine has cut off but car cannot be started again. Any ideas?

No fuel is not the reason. When it happens I select restart race. when the car spawns on the start line it will be in 1st gear and the accelerator doesn't work. Checked with different controllers, all work perfectly in every other game, all show same behaviour in Automobilista 2. Just happened again. Only way to sort it is to reboot the game.

check for automatic clutch, and if or not manual engine start is enabled. When yes, Car needs to be in neutral, clutch pressed, ignition "on", press engiene start button. Some servers force manual engine start to fool newbies. ;)

For manual engine start to work you need to assign ignition and engine start button first.

Formula V10 gen 1 & 2, McLaren MP12/4, and Formula V12 have this issue where even if you have auto-clutch enabled the car will stall if you're in gear and are not accelerating or holding the clutch. When leaving the pits or starting a race hold the clutch button, put it in 1st gear, rev up the engine then release the clutch. if you restart a race and the car is in 1st gear and stalls you can hold the clutch and press the engine start button then race normally. If during a race you make a mistake or the AI spins you out you have to remember to hold the clutch, if the cars stops and you're in gear and not holding the clutch the car will stall.
