If that does not work i have another solution that i had to do.
Goto documents and right click on Automobilista 2 and properties.
You'll get a pop up window appear, at the bottom you'll see Attributes and a checkbox with Read-only (only applies to files in folder)
Make sure that checkbox is empty, if it's ticked or filled with a dark square then autosave is disabled.
To run the game as admin find the installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2).
Click on "View" on the top row of tabs, in the box that opens check the show hidden items box (right hand side at the bottom).
Scroll down till you locate the AMS2 application logo and right click it,
click properties.
Then click the compatibility tab,
near the bottom you'll see a checkbox labelled "Run this program as an administrator", ensure the box has a tick in it, click apply and OK.
The game will now run in Admin mode whenever you launch it.
Look into it first if you don't know what it is
Nice one dude! Glad you got it sorted...
You are welcome. Glad to help
Honestly i'm not to familiar with this security stuff. It might be possible to add a exclusion for the ams2 documents folder and that way you can keep the security feature on.
For the record i have mine off still. I don't know how important it is to security
Im no computer guru but personally I turn it back on when I am not playing AMS2. Its supposed to "protect files, folder, and memory areas" from "unauthorized changes by unfriendly applications" according to the Defender program. It also appears you can exclude AMS2 as DmAnd stated.
