Shift light stopped working on Simagic GT Neo

Recently got a Simagic GT Neo with the shift lights, initially it was working fine. However after running the game while having virtual desktop (VR program) the force feedback and shift light stopped working. After removing and reinstalling the wheel software the force feedback works again but not the shift lights. The shift lights do work in Assetto so the wheel and software seems ok. Tried reinstalling the game but no difference, although there were settings which remained after uninstall of the game as things like the game controller settings were still as I originally set them prior to the reinstall.
I think what may of caused this is linking the vr controller to the game via virtual desktop, now the game is talking to the wrong thing, it's how I correct that.
Any thoughts would be useful.

Fixed it, in the system settings shared memory had somehow been set to no, change to project cars 2 and it works.
