why the ♥♥♥♥ doesen't it work with my moza r9?

This might seem a daft question but is the wheel on and completed it's self calibration before launching the game?
AMS2 only detects controllers during the initial loading phase so the wheel MUST be on 1st, if not it won't register any inputs, same applies if you unplug the wheel in game, you'll need to restart the game.
The game has a history of losing input devices too (had it happen with both my old T300 and CSL DD after a recent update), it's usually not a MAJOR problem as the following usually sorts it out.
If that WAS a daft question...
Try changing USB port, no idea why but it's worked for me in the past (CSL DD here).
If that doesn't work?
Try reassigning all controls in the options area.
For steering assignment to register you MUST pull and recentre within about 1 second, no need to goto full lock just 90 degrees and back is enough.
If you pull and hold nothing will happen as it won't register.
If you pull & recenter too slowly you'll see "Multiple inputs detected" (actually a good sign as it's registering the wheel), try faster.
Pedals require a rapid stamp/release, same potential issues as with the steering.
Work through all buttons etc.
If the above works?
Calibrate the steering and pedals in controller options (this is why full lock isn't needed when assigning).

If the above DOESN'T work?
Switch to the "Custom wheel profile" and try assigning all controls there.

HOPEFULLY one of the above will get you sorted...

Ohh and finally if you find the FFB a bit off then try the custom FFB files found on Reiza Forums here....

Been using them for over 2 years and I find them far FAR better and more detailed than either default or default+

I can confirm this game works with Moza gear.
I don't have Moza but my friend who plays this a lot does have the R21

I don't remember what he had to do to set it up, pretty sure you have to start with a custom wheel. Not custom FFB but the custom selection in the wheel profiles from in game, clear all the bindings and start from scratch. After you bind left and right steering, go and calibrate the wheel.

You have to take the extra step with Moza gear for now until it is more widely adopted. A quick google search would provide you with a answer.

Try not to be so upset, i know it can be frustrating at times.

I was going to offer some suggestions to OP but seeing the other posts about other games with no mention of anything he/they/them have tried and just blaming "Piece of crap AAA game", then i decided, nah im good.

use direct drive generic profile you have to edit inputs steering throttle brakes ect make sure you turn the wheel all the way to the right and left when editing .Then calibrate wheel then your good to go

Unrelated but do people race online in this game? Just bought (new to sim racing) this game as an entry game to the genre of sim racing as I wanted to race AI initially to learn the ropes. Just curious what the mp aspect of this game is like, pretty none existent from what I've read? If this is the case, once I learn the ropes and feel I can compete at an entry level with real racers... what would you recommend as a go to for PvP racing? I have wheel and pedals currently so enough to get my started (Thrustmaster TS500RS) and fine for me currently!
