FFB settings for more weight transfer feel
Hey everyone,
having tried various custom ffb files, I realized that current default+ gives the best feel for the car. However, I'm still on the fence about the feel of weight transfer and grip. It is miles ahead of PC2, but still not at the level of AMS, RF2 and especially GPL. Particularly the latter - GPL with 67 mods gives a fantastic feeling of weight transfer which is something like a heavier wheel after breaking and lighter when at full acceleration. But I love a lot of other stuff about AMS2. Still, I wonder if anyone understands how to make the feeling of weight transfer and slip more pronounced. Having read Reiza faq on ffb on the forums, I'm none the wiser. Currently racing in F3 championship and sometimes the loss of grip (particularly on exit) comes out of nowhere. Frankly, I've not really managed to learn the right way to counter steer in an F3, so most slips are game over.

It really comes down to the quality and type of wheel you have.

I'm pretty sure this is a thing with AMS2 not the wheel. CSL DD 8nm is sufficient everywhere else. And, as mentioned, the feel to weight transfer in GPL for instance is superior. I suppose one trick is to jack up the wheel volume in sound settings, but perhaps there's a way to do this properly in ffb settings too.
Also, weird to see people who don't own the game respond?

I have been experimenting with Yaw and Suspension values in my Custom FFB file to try to get more feeling of weight transfer. It improves it a little but still not to the standard of AC for instance. I will keep trying.

AMS2 FFB is made with G-series Wheels in mind regarding default and default+ settings. That's mainly due to the fact that Logitech is right now the only brand easily available on the brazilian market.

Turns out the best thing to do is play with the game damper settings in both fanatec settings and game itself. Setting it high enough provides a better feel for the torque.

Hi deapapier,
I have the same problem with my g29 wheel.
I have no grip.

Try, making sure the damper is set to on/100% in wheel settings and the game, although I think I only run about 10/15% in game.

Yup. For some strange reason in AMS2 the damper setting is whats responsible for feeling of torque, weight transfer, slip etc. It does make the wheel heavier, but dynamically instead of constantly.
