Because most players wont even think to look for 3rd party programmes, multiplayer is a mess because most people have no clue whats going on around them

Also wondering about this. I use Crew Chief but I'd be interested to see how their implementation stacks up - haven't been able to get it to work so far with "always on" enabled and "pit radio" volume up

I couldnt hear any spotter in the new version myself, but I will continue to use Crew Chief anyway - its very good.

Unless they've recorded some audio and sneakly added it in the last update, AMS2 never had a propper spotter, only subtitles, despite that being an option in the audio settings menu.

But, as others have said, Crew Chief works just flawlesly as an alternative and even better, it's sim agnostic, so you can use it in a lot of other platforms. It's just not widely sugested for newcomers as it should as a must have tool.

Spotter on/off is under gameplay options, right under the new Halo System on/off option

I activated it and nothing happened wonder if its bugged or its very specific conditions for which the spotter talks

I got the spotter to work by making sure the spotter option was turned to "Always". I loaded up a single race and he started giving me information. The in game spotter seems like it needs work though and is not very accurate with the information he was giving me. For now I think crew chief is the way to go. Cool they added the feature though.

The spotter sounds terrible in my opinion. I rather have Crew Chief.

I tested it alongside crew chief. It's fine, in terms of actual spotting its a bit quicker and more informative IMO. But it doesn't do all the engineering things Crew Chief does so I will probably still just use CC for now. For people who don't want to use CC its great though.

As someone said above crew chief with voice commands is the way to go.

For the spotter to work:

- change 'Options -> Gameplay -> Display -> Spotter'. "Authentic" is only for ovals.
- go into volume option and make sure "pit radio volume" is not set to 0 (I recommend setting it to 100)

Ok I will take a look but Crew Chief has everything I want and even tells me off when I lose badly so it's just like being a F1 driver

yeah for those that don't know, in the Crew Chief settings you can turn swear words on in the settings. Jim then really lets loose. "ignore that prick in the mirror" "wtf are you doing?" it's great!
