It vary from car to car (and also may vary according to setup changes if you did any) but throttle and brake management (as much as how much you steer according to how much brake and throttle you use) makes a difference in if the rear slides or not and how much it slides, as much as it is in any other sim (and also from sim to sim the "base setup" makes a difference too, as comparison, as you have ACC, ACC default setups, even the aggressive setup, are quite on the "tame" side when it comes to be a "reactive to your inputs and reactions" car).

Remember also this is a "Racing Sim" not an "Arcade Racer" or a "SimCade" game, proper car control needs to be learnt, i.e. throttle and brake input. You can not just go full throttle all the time.

Best options to play is a wheel and pedals then a a controller, keyboard nah.

I am not saying that is what you are doing just putting the info out there.

Reduce the Throttle sensitivity slider.

Try turning the ABS down a few clicks.

Play a different game.

ACC - the understeer simulator.
AMS 2 - the oversteer simulator.

Joke but not far from truth, cars drive similar much like the counterparts at ACC if you change setup to be similar (in regards to what can be translated from one to the other).
AMS2 setups are just harder to fiddle with your inputs and less lenient (more prone to oversteer under braking or throttle use)

Simple
1. set car in third gear and drive track at half throttle. (blip if you must)

2. back down throttle response until you can roll around entire track.

3. All the tracks are pretty much the same.

4. if automatic trans is used just ad some throttle until you feel front start to slide slightly.

5. When front pushes , or some might feel it slide straight ahead and not turn , lift off
throttle slightly.
6. Not counting a fancy setup, with manual trans when front starts to slide and not turn,
this is the edge of the tires.
7. Push in the clutch at the point after is slides, if it corrects the steering that is the edge of
your handling.
8. If it still slides you are way to Hot so slow down.

9. always lower tire pressure a few pounds after finding the laser edge.

10 Now is the time to ad brakes, shifting of gears, and more throttle.
