The brake STILL isn't right
Just tried out the new build and it's still way too easy to lock the brakes up on some cars.

I feel like the temps climb wayyy too fast. I have a BBK on my car and when I take it on the track, the brakes never got hot that fast, and they're not even Brembos, they're knock-offs, not even Wilwood or whatever.
I agree. I track as well with basic mods to the brakes and never had the kind of fade that's modeled into these cars. Something is not right. I get having cold brakes at first, but the overheating brakes after four laps has got to go.

Doesnt brake sensitivity 10% mean you can only hit 10% brakes? you need way more than that dude lmaoo

No, it's a non linear bell curve which is how real brakes work. 50% is a linear line while 100% is the opposite of the bell. In rFactor they show you the curse you get with whatever % you set.

This is my experience. Not putting down issues others are running into.

I'm using a loadcell (Clubsport V3). I see a lot of people talking about sensitivity adjustment, etc. I noticed brakes locked way too easily at default settings (in car settings). Since the last 2 updates and now this current one, I keep my brake sensitivity in the settings menu at 50% (default). The only thing I change is brake pressure per car.

With pretty much every car, I set brake pressure at 70-75% and never get locking on hard deceleration. The only exception is karts where I couldn't go below 80%. This is a very important thing to do if you plan on keeping control and not to mention trail braking.

70-70% is what I personally need based on my driving style and the pressure needed on the hardest braking points on tracks that I encounter. It's different for everyone but try it out. Heck, go lower and see if that helps you.

Doesnt matter what settings - Pressure high or low, sensitivity 50% or higher. Fanatec CSL Elite and brake failure after two laps. The cars are useless after the update.

I have experienced inconsistent braking. Some cars I can use my brake pedal (Protosimtech PT-1) as I'm expecting and others I cannot. It's not ABS. I know some users have said their pedal calibration isn't saving so they must re-calibrate every time they start AMS2 (might be something to check for those experiencing braking problems). I'm not sure if I've experienced that particular issue but it is curious how braking is currently in the title. I typically use around 30-35 Brake Sensitivity for most titles with these pedals. I'm not discounting that with AMS2 that may need to be different but it does seem off a little currently depending on the car.

I'm sure Reiza will hammer out all the details.

I got like 20hrs in the SuperV8 during beta phase and no issue with braking in 0.8.4. using T300 Alcantara with its 3 stock pedals + rubber mod.
Break sensitivity in-game as always 35%, in-car break strengt at 85%.

For the break damage, open up cooling ducts! They now effect the break life! If u keep at nearly closed they overheat and guess what, yeaa..they r getting damaged till they fail. Its not a bug, its a feature! Happy racing! :)

edit: Also use the new HUD overlay while driving! It shows actual break temp., pedal signal applied and much more. Great addition reizA!

Also, people should install Crew Chief so the race engineers can warn them about the brake temps.

I'm also having braking issues with Fanatec load cell pedals. Since installing I've tried going as low as 0% braking sensitivity and I get lock up even at high speed when I've compressed the pedal by maybe 70% of travel - it's like hitting a wall.

I've tried calibrating over and over and played with just about every setting possible. I'll stick to iRacing and AC for the time being until this is sorted. FFB is incredible, but braking issues just make it unplayable.

I measured my brake input and they're locking with not even 60% pressure... Time to make a video!
Stepy Apr 26, 2020 @ 9:18am
Braking is worse than the last build and that new FFB is Horrible just a werid numb feeling, this weeks build is definately a step back for me very disappointing. Oh well back to ACC again till next week.........

I can`t enjoy my arcade racer the brakes and FFB are messed up.

I'm hardly touching the brakes in this video and there's a lot of wheel lock-up, I need to make another video though to prove to you that I'm hardly touching it because apparently everyone on here thinks I'm a pathological liar. I made this video to show I have no damage for another thread I'm participating in so ignore video name and title.

Like in real live. Have you ever driven a sports or race car without ABS or brake booster? You wouldn't believe how fast you lock up the brakes. You definitely don't need 100% to lock them up.

maybe you should recalibrate your pedals in-game and set the sensitivity to a lower value, till you're satisfied.

An Mk1 Passat is not... sorry fanboys.. A sports car or a race car.. Pedals recalibrated a million times, and the car's brake pressure at the default settings should not be unusable.

Why so offensive? This has nothing to do with being a fanboy. I don't have any problems with the cars I tried.

Ok, I've never driven the Passat. I've tried the Caterhams, the Super V8, the P1, P2, P3. They don't have any of the problems you mentioned. At least for me and my racing buddys.

We're on Thrustmaster and Fanatec equipment and didn't have any problems.
