Cargo + Passenger Ports?
I see you can add a passenger dock and passenger building to a cargo port. But nobody is actually using it? So do I need to make a separate passenger port? Why am I able to add it to the cargo port if it's not functional? Selling passenger tickets for the boat would be very helpful.

It is functional. But a passenger port and cargo port act as two different ports even if they are connected, and as such need to be added to a line's order list accordingly. If it properly has been set up to have both than their should be 2 different icons representing the port. When setting up a line you need to click on the icon of the port that fits the purpose you desire. If passengers, then click on the passenger icon when adding the port to the line.

If you want a single line to service both the cargo and passenger parts of the port then you will need to add the port to your order list twice, once clicking on the cargo icon and once clicking on the passenger icon. Your boat will also need to be capable of loading both and have separate compartments.

There is no handling of cargo and passengers in the very same terminal in this game.

If you have a vehicle that can carry both, and want to process both in a single station or port, it will have to load and unload passengers first in a passenger platform, and then proceed to a cargo platform to do the same for cargo - or vice versa.

Hi, what do you mean by "nobody is actually using it"? If you've created a line and no passengers appear after a while, then make sure that it's actually connected at both ends to places where people want to go. Also make sure it isn't competing with another line that they prefer more (like a fast train).

But I believe it's beneficial that when you use a passenger- and cargostation in one they do have the same catchment area right ? So when I build a passenger trainstation together with a cargo station in the middle of a town they should be able to 'catch' the residential area so mail can be picked up as well right ?

Yes, both combined will have the same catchment area.

Is this the same as the Switzerland part of the campaign, where they had two tracks serving a passenger terminal and a cargo station right next to each other in nearly every town? If so, I guess you need two tracks for this, at least at the stations.
