Are complex supply chains possible?
So I need help with something here, im trying to make a big chain and the start of it just wont jump start so ima ask yall for help on this one as I had like a big vision and after spending a lot of setup time this ♥♥♥♥ don't work and I did trial and error like a bjilion times to where now I got a headache. So the idea is I got a paper mill (part of a mod) and a lot of wood forests spread about and I also saw a lumber mill and a goods center and was like oh snap I can make a gigachain and do somthin nuts to make it all work out. So I used some airports and I built one near the paper mill on one side and another kinda equidistant between all forests on the other side. In order to connect each I setup trains to each airport to then transport them to the respective places bridging the big gap the industries had. SO TLDR HERE the basic formation for my Paper production is this: 3 Woods > Train station > Airport > Airport > Train station > Paper > Train station > Airport > Airport > Train station > Goods center. For the wood and the other lumber yard was a simple: 2 Woods > Lumber > Goods center and that one obviously worked but my paper one wont jump start with the woods producing anything and getting over to the other station then to the airport. I tried so many things like even trucks if that needed to be in between somewhere or if I was missing road connections and all just ceased to help out.

I don't know the mod in question, but unless I am reading it wrong, the Paper mill will (should) start accepting wood even if the downstream chain doesn't work.

So, are the forests starting to produce / ship logs? That's where I'd start looking, right at the start of the chain to make sure there is a valid route between the "3 woods" and the"paper".

It might help if you post a couple of screenshots, or load your save game to the workshop. That would help in diagnosing the problem.

But to answer your question, complex supply chains are possible and should work.

Cheers,
Chris.

Well yea thats where im struggling to find the issue is the logs arent producing to start the chain and get to the train which is connected to the Airport and then then the rest of the chain

Industry Expanded is the mod that adds 13 new products and there are other mods as well.

I have seen one industry mod that adds fuel and lubricants (new product) as part of the chain to make goods.
Food is also more complex, with a prerequisite of paper/plastic to ship food in.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I FOUND THE CRUX XD Dude literally the bane of complex chains haha, it was a line that I forgot to toggle an unload or load on for 2 lines between like my 12 lines man, god sometimes u just gotta look very carefully at your stuff and you'll find the tiniest mistakes can take out your entire chain

Real Industrial Chains mod does that. I'm currently trying both it and Industry Expanded at the same time. It's..., interesting.
