Suddenly trucks won't pick up a full load
After the game has been running for game years, I noticed that a truck route had stopped moving vehicles. They were all collecting logs from a truck depot which had 300+ logs waiting. The line specified a "wait for full load" at this terminal, but the vehicles (originally Asian Flatbed Horse Drawn Carriage) would only load one less than the full load and then wait for the default 3 minutes, so an extremely long line of trucks had formed.

The cargo pick up condition still specified the default 100%, not that that's relevant.

I changed the vehicles to Benz Tarpaulin Trucks (reducing the number of vehicles) and the same thing happens. If I remove the "wait for full load" condition then they start moving, but each of them only loads less than the full amount.

Having gone back and forth several times, normal service is finally removed. It's still a problem for me since I don't understand how a line working perfectly well should stop. It will take the game quite a while to catch up with "normal service".

Can anyone shed light?

(I tried to share the game save but the share button is blanked out for some reason.)

As Autocoach points out, I had recently adjusted the route so trucks adapting to the new route arrived with planks already on board. It sorted itself out eventually as the new route established itself.

Removing the full load requirement moves them through and adding the alternate platform at the truck station helps with throughput. The full load can then be re-added though for me on this type of route I don't see it as necessary.

Under normal circumstances (i.e. where there are no loading or filter restrictions at all) this doesn't happen (at least I've never seen it happen). I'd say the first thing to do is remove all load/unload and cargo filters and see if that fixes it (i.e. load whatever's there and don't wait at all). I know you've said you've already done that but it's really easy to make a mistake with the filter UI.

If that doesn't work then it may be tricky to diagnose this, something weird is going on, and I suggest you figure out why you can't post a save file to the workshop. I think screenshots might not suffice in this case.
thanks for the link. I'll try it tomorrow.

Hi, can only speculate without more details, but assuming no mods, this sounds like a station that is serving logs to more than one line. So although there may be logs waiting on the platform, those logs are destined for consumers on the other line, not this line. So this line sits waiting for new logs to arrive that are destined for its own consumers.

No, only a single consumer of the logs.

Here is the game save:

Please note that the problem eventually went away as I changed vehicles and changed them back, changed the line settings and changed them back.

See the game save above.
In terms of line settings, this was a "plain vanilla" case with no funny filters or anything. Just picking up logs and only when they were available (they are always available from this forest at this stage in the game).

This excellent manual (which I reference many times in my own guide) is currently not loading for me.

So, just to confirm, it's fixed itself?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Exactly, that's what it was. Many thanks (again for many past helps).

Yes, thanks, see Autocoach's post for the reason.

Not working for me either at the moment, strange.

Ditto for me.

The Modding Manual there is still working tho, so hopefully the Game Manual is just temporarily unavailable.

Glad tidings indeed. Just to comment that this sort of thing is why I now try to force myself to to go to the effort to specify exactly what I want picked up/dropped off at each station stop when setting up a line, even if it seems unnecessary, and fairly regularly have to kick myself when I've been too lazy to do so.
