* You can connect the second station to any road, any place, as long as it's in town.

You select the Terminal Cargo station...
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2550171331
You select the size of the station that will fit the Square Box and use N or M to rotate so it fit.
And as you can see, the mine is highlight, that mean the cargo is stations in catchment with the mine. As for the passengers station, Select the terminal version of passengers station.
Therefore ... where is the "bug" ?
The thing is : the game is not telling you of what type of station is need to be place ... Maybe that is the "bug".
End of post.
I just play this mission .... no issue. I did not see any issues. You need to install the proper cargo station... that all.
Later with large maps, multiple connecting lines, vehicles and cargo types, are all going to add up to a lot of things that don't work right off the bat. You're going to have to track down the errors, and that can be quite complex.
Mission one has something to track down, it's a good way to start your tracking adventure.
However, if you click on the station to select it a dialog box opens. Select 'Configure' from the dialog box and then add a small side building to the end nearest the silver mine, you will see it 'connect' and then you will see silver gradually accumulating at the station Send the train back to the station and you can continue the tutorial.
Thanks!
I wholeheartedly disagree with this sentiment. I am new to the series, I have absolutely no clue what is going on. I came here because the tutorial told me to do something that didn't work. I don't know how to do anything in this game yet, so this is very problematic. You're suggesting that it's a good thing, but no the tutorial is broken. If there's something you need to figure out in the tutorial, they need to tell you. I followed the instructions and it outright didn't work. That's why I came here.
If I would have left the cargo platform length at 160m it would have worked, but the game told me to do 120m specifically, and it forced the placement in a specific location, therefore not connecting to the road. Also, I can't build roads, that's disabled for me in the tutorial. How is this something reasonable to figure out for a newcomer?
Thankfully what LutraMage said does correct the issue. Placing some buildings at the end of the cargo platform does fix the problem. I would not have been able to figure that out as a new person, this tutorial behavior is completely unacceptable and they should fix it.
TF2 doesn't have a tutorial.
Puzzles to solve, yes.
But not a tutorial.
Ahh yes, "rotate the camera x number of times", that's not a tutorial. "Zoom in and out" that's not a tutorial, that's a legitimate campaign mission, you're right.
Same in mission 2.
Firstly, my train wouldn't carry any silver. I couldn't build a road it was locked so I extended the train station to connect to the road and thankfully this worked.
Secondly, during "Connecting Cities", I didn't realise I needed to built a terminus passenger station to connect the cities instead of a normal train station. It just kept saying "must be connected to a road" but I didn't have access to roads.
Neither of these things were made clear, both were frustrating and took away from the fun of the game. A simple hint or a better description in the first place would've solved both of these for me without me having to get wound up trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I have never played a Transport Fever game before, this is my first time ever. The tutorial/first chapter wasn't clear enough for a brand new player like me and it should be updated to be more clear.
Thank you, exactly. I had the same problems as you in general. They don't tell you what to place and you're not given the full ability to correct any mistake you make. The game doesn't tell you that a terminus station can connect to a road easier because it has the terminal on the end which can be placed near a road. You have to figure it out by accident or go online.
It would be trivial for them to just write "build a passenger terminus station" or "build a cargo terminus station" but they choose to be vague and entirely unhelpful. I've only managed to do a few missions in the campaign because their way of telling you how to do things is just so tedious. I spent 45 minutes trying to figure out why I wasn't transporting silver because I built a train and it was running. It wasn't even telling me that the road wasn't connecting. That should have been a 2 minute thing. If I knew to use a cargo terminus it would have been, but they just don't tell you. And they don't tell you the difference between the two even.
I saw "build cargo station" so I looked at the TWO highlighted options. Cargo Station and Cargo Terminus Station. Well it says very specifically 'cargo station' so it must be 'cargo station'. Nope. I actually solved this issue a different way, by building an auxiliary building onto the side near the road. They also didn't tell me that, I found that possibility online.
It's such a headache, they made this game exclusively for people who played the first one and it shows. It's so unfriendly to new people.
