- Not using vehicle/wagons able to carry the desired cargo.
- The industry you are trying to connect does not desire stone.
- Either of the station is not connected to the industry - i.e. no white highlight around them once you click the station up. This could be due to the station being too far by road, or too far from a road/industry, for the game to register a connection between the station and the industry/road.

It isn't, there's something slightly different about it you haven't spotted yet. This is a mature game now and everything works as intended.
If you post a screenshot including all the lines making up the brick production set up vets here will be able to point to various things (that they learned through bitter experience) that you need to check to find the problem.
It's not easy debugging lines when you start playing this game. The more you play the easier it gets. There's loads of quirks and gotchas you won't know about yet. Folks here do, just ask and you'll learn a lot. Screenshots (or saves) are very important for troubleshooting.
But I agree, there's something wrong in the setup somewhere. Just have to keep looking. Best of luck with it.
1. Choose your source industry and your destination industry.
(Destination industry must have a demand for the source industry's cargo.)
2. Build the route with cargo stations connected to the source and destination.
(Connections to industries can be done directly with the station entrance or by a connecting road, provided that the station isn't placed too far from the industry. The industry will be highlighted on the ground in white when placing or selecting the station if the industry is within connection range.)
3. Create a line assigning stops in the order you intend.
4. Buy vehicles that can carry the intended cargo and assign them to the line.
5. If you did the above correctly, you should see the industry providing cargo to your station.
Firstly, in vanilla, you can add different types of wagons to the one train.
If you don't mind using mods, then there are two mods worth looking into. Firstly Naffeys Universal Stake cars will carry basically everything. The other mod that I use are the DMA cargo wagons. These become available a little later in the game, and can carry most of the things that towns require. They don't carry some of the raw resources, but I normally use dedicated trains for those.
Cheers,
Chris.
Yes you can use as many different lines / modes as you want.
Put a truck stop with coverage of the port. Put another truck stop with coverage of the destination. Add a truck line between them, add trucks to it, done.
Yes a "street stop" is a valid connection if all you're doing is unloading.
The Consumers and Suppliers tabs of the source and destination will show if there is a connection so it can start producing product to ship. If it's missing or shows zero it means there's a missing connection somewhere. Nothing will be produced until they are connected.
Share the savegame so ppl can check it (easiest), or post a bunch screenshots to show the setup.
