Game is nothing more then a frustration
Nothing gets explained really, there's a weird logic to how you would actually handle logistics.

But most importantly just very odd how it works in general.
I have a demand for something, I have a supply for something, a line. train everything. But the stone quarry just wont make stone. I literally have what I need for it to work, as I have the exact same setup on the other side. Nice. Been trying to figure this out for an hour and now I'm at the point where I just wanna uninstall the game and gt a refund.

share the save on the workshop and someone could take a look at it.

Could be a number of things:

- Not using vehicle/wagons able to carry the desired cargo.
- The industry you are trying to connect does not desire stone.
- Either of the station is not connected to the industry - i.e. no white highlight around them once you click the station up. This could be due to the station being too far by road, or too far from a road/industry, for the game to register a connection between the station and the industry/road.

Stone is the slowest raw material to start producing.

Although that is initially true, it is good for players to understand why. It isn't arbitrarily slower. It only produces slower because there is less demand for it from an non-upgraded factory. But if the Brick factory is fully upgraded than a quarry will produce as quick as any other raw resource.

It isn't, there's something slightly different about it you haven't spotted yet. This is a mature game now and everything works as intended.

If you post a screenshot including all the lines making up the brick production set up vets here will be able to point to various things (that they learned through bitter experience) that you need to check to find the problem.

It's not easy debugging lines when you start playing this game. The more you play the easier it gets. There's loads of quirks and gotchas you won't know about yet. Folks here do, just ask and you'll learn a lot. Screenshots (or saves) are very important for troubleshooting.

I would say that the community is mature. The game is not, as indicated by your comment on all the quirks and gotchas and the many posts of confusion. The community speaks more for the developer on how the game works than the developers, who are mostly silent about any of their intentions on how the game mechanics are supposed to work. At least on the Steam forums, maybe they're better on their own forums, I wouldn't know. But I see some of the same issues popping up since Train Fever and TpF1. Sometimes I think they don't even play their own game.

But I agree, there's something wrong in the setup somewhere. Just have to keep looking. Best of luck with it.

To build a working line between industries:

1. Choose your source industry and your destination industry.
(Destination industry must have a demand for the source industry's cargo.)

2. Build the route with cargo stations connected to the source and destination.
(Connections to industries can be done directly with the station entrance or by a connecting road, provided that the station isn't placed too far from the industry. The industry will be highlighted on the ground in white when placing or selecting the station if the industry is within connection range.)

3. Create a line assigning stops in the order you intend.

4. Buy vehicles that can carry the intended cargo and assign them to the line.

5. If you did the above correctly, you should see the industry providing cargo to your station.

The best raw material to start with is Crude Oil because crude oil, refined oil, fuel can all be transported in the same type of vehicle. Grain is also a good choice because you only need to get it to a food factory and then the food to the nearest couple of towns requiring food (preferably in the first two choices of goods that they need).

I want to know whether there is a way to create multimodal transport. I am trying to transport whiskey via harbor, but the destination building is too far away from water to be able to go straight from the unload harbor, so I am trying to get it to go to a truck stop so I can send it that way, but it won't connect and refuses to recognize it. How can I make this work without literally either building a bridge or terraforming the water closer to the town?

Mixed consist trains are possible in a number of ways.

Firstly, in vanilla, you can add different types of wagons to the one train.

If you don't mind using mods, then there are two mods worth looking into. Firstly Naffeys Universal Stake cars will carry basically everything. The other mod that I use are the DMA cargo wagons. These become available a little later in the game, and can carry most of the things that towns require. They don't carry some of the raw resources, but I normally use dedicated trains for those.

Cheers,
Chris.

Yes you can use as many different lines / modes as you want.

Put a truck stop with coverage of the port. Put another truck stop with coverage of the destination. Add a truck line between them, add trucks to it, done.

Who are you responding to? I can't find anything in this convo speaking of trains...

Does an unloading truck stop work for the destination? I have it all placed exactly as it's supposed to be and made sure all of the vehicles have the ability to transport whiskey. It should be as simple as getting the whiskey to the shipping harbor, but it's not doing it. I'm in career mode... Eventually I just had to make a freight train that crossed the ocean. I'm tired of messing with it.

Yes a "street stop" is a valid connection if all you're doing is unloading.

The Consumers and Suppliers tabs of the source and destination will show if there is a connection so it can start producing product to ship. If it's missing or shows zero it means there's a missing connection somewhere. Nothing will be produced until they are connected.

Share the savegame so ppl can check it (easiest), or post a bunch screenshots to show the setup.

I get frustrated with people who use the word 'then' when they should use 'than'
