Anyone ever think about Toll Roads?
I got to thinking that it would be cool to have them in the game. You wouldn't have to get very granular with it, like setting the toll fee. We use passenger trains all the time, and don't set a ticket price. But to have the ability to place a toll road, and recover some money spent. Especially after spending a few million paving a road 4 lanes, some 300 scale miles.

That would be cool. Can that be a mod thing? Have toll booths and all? Have the toll fare increase over time, with everything else...

Although you don't actually gain a toll from these, they are already available:

Hmm... nope. I don't recall them ever having crossed my mind.

The Problem with a real vanilla Toll Road is the problem that traffic not only has to know whats the fastest (traffic jam, speed limit, lenght) rout but also whats the cheapest. And you would need different types of drivers, so that some use the fast expensive road and some use the cheap one. This would be a big effort by the developers for a transport game (and not an infrastructure or city manager).

Wow, I missed that one. I did a search for 'TOLL' and nothing came up. Thanks! I hope his 4-6 lane version comes out soon.

@Bauer33333 - It would be cool if it did generate some sort of income. To offset the maintenance costs. I understand it's a transport game, but they give you roads and road tools... and tolls fall under the Department of Transportation, at least in the US.
