Finding the Ship bugging

I am stuck on the third campaign/tutorial, "Finding the Ship". I've watched videos of people completing it, but the quest ship has never spawned for me. I've run an extra year or so, but that ship has just never spawned. Which means I can't get the next leg, so even though I'm drowning Glasgow in whisky I can't complete the quest.

Does anyone know any way to reset a quest, so that perhaps I can get the rassum frassum ship to spawn?

The ship doesn't spawn, it's your own ship you had assigned to whiskey line.

But... OK. So how do I get the golden question over MY head then? There is no quest marker, I've looked for a LONG time by now.

I remember that I had a pathing issue with where I originally put something (shipyard, I think) and had to replace my first boat - I wonder if that bugged it.
