2 tracks entering a 2 track platform?
I'm having difficulty figuring out how to configure 2 parallel tracks running in opposite directions entering and leaving a 2 track platform. Everything was ok when I had the 2 tracks entering a 1 track platform, and they signaled and operated properly. In fact, too properly as this station is exactly in the middle of a 5 station layout and the trains were meeting there and 1 was being delayed by waiting.

I tried a crossover switch just before the station, but they still seem to prefer using just one of the station platforms.

This is happening on my great big keeper Cuba map, so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Are you assigning a separate terminal to each line?

Indeed, adding modular tracks and platforms won't change a terminal already set. Though adding a bus stop to join with another bus stop across the street will! I suppose a temporary warning or tip could help when multiple lines use the same platform.

First, you have to bear in mind that trains (and vehicles in general) don't intelligently choose which of multiple eligible platforms to use each time they arrive at a station. If Line A is assigned to Platform 1, then every single vehicle on Line A will use Platform 1 every single time, no matter what. So I would make sure that you're spreading your lines out among the available platforms.

Second, make sure you don't have an issue with signals or track switches that's preventing trains from even reaching the second track.

Third, make sure the second track has an appropriate platform next to it. Every track in a station requires an adjacent platform in order to operate. So it your station looks like Platform-Track-Track, that second track is unusable by the station and every train will still have to use the first track. Instead, you need Platform-Track-Track-Platform, or Platform-Track-Platform-Track, or Track-Platform-Platform-Track, etc.

Lastly, trains can only use platforms of the same type. So cargo trains can only use stops adjacent to cargo platforms, and passenger trains can only use stops adjacent to passenger platforms. I ran into this issue last night when I had a PassPlat-Track-Track-FreightPlat station and didn't realize I was trying to have the freight train stop on the "passenger platform" track.

So if I assign the specific platforms I still have to specify a new stop for the route, one that has the correct platform for each direction?

Those are just warnings btw. Warnings don't always prevent a vehicle from stopping there, if they can.

By line, yes. Not by train. The developers have never implemented rules for a given line to serve multiple platforms at once, unless there is no path to the line path.

Well, yes, the train could stop there, but it didn't register as being an eligible freight stop for purposes of industrial production, because it was going into the "passenger" platform. I was running a passenger train and a freight train on the same line because I'm administratively lazy, but once I created a new line and assigned that line to the "freight-platform" track of the station, the chain worked as expected with no issues.
