Shipping cactus to refinery for alcohol

Any benefit in supplying the cactus plant with guano. I did not bother and the cactus still kept producing. Thought you would need the guano to produce more cactus?

It's requested later for a campaign mission but you won't benefit from it before then.

I was actually playing the campaign mission (number 5 I think set in Mexico) and I never had to deliver guano? Do you mean a later campaign?

In the campaign mission that i saw it, i ignored the guano at first. Later in that same mission i was told to provide the guano to the cactus farm.

Spoiler: after you provide it, you are informed that it doesn't help the cactus farm anyway

I just finished this mission without having to deliver any guano. The tequila kept being produced without it.
