BUG?/No path for large ships

I added a large dock to each dock but it still doesn't work. Is this a bug?

Judging from the screenshot it looks deep enough.

I don't use boats a lot, but it's possible that your line settings are directing your boats to the small dock instead of the large one. Make sure the terminal selection at each stop is set to the correct terminal for the large boats.

Yes all three are set to go to the small terminals , if you only have one terminal at each port you have not added a landing to the large ones.

I decided to load a preveous save and do food instead. I will have to do some research to figure out how to do the oil/fuel route. I have a truck stop in range of the dock and food processor but the dock is a smidge to far out of range of the food processor. Do I need to add a truck route to the dock or will the one truck station be enough?

Yes a truck route is required . Put the other stop on the opposite side of the road and have trucks run between the two stops does limit the number of vehicles required.

Rats more expenses. I'll just add another cargo terminal on the other side and they can drop off at one terminal and pickup processed food for the dock at the other terminal.

Have you build your pier for large ship? I have make this mistake before.

My guess is the shipyard, the depot where you bought it, is not able to spit out the ship? You might need to sell the ship and depot and place it in deeper water... then the ship can get "out" of the depot, to the route.

You get a similar error with rail depots when trying to send electric trains out but the depot isn't the electric version or with trams, but no tram track connecting to your tram route. It's almost certainly what is causing the error here with the ship depot.

So not a bug, just player misunderstanding.
