Bad game.

This game is really bad because, first of all, the game takes a really long time to load when it starts, and it always doesn't even load. It just stops working. The add-on has been purchased but it doesn't work either.
You shouldn't play this game with mods at all. Because mods don't work.
It's a shame that a very interesting game can't be made to work as it should.

Mine starts up perfectly each time from desktop to play in 38 seconds. I have about 4 mods running in that too. Have found no freezing etc at all since purchase. No add-on!

You are wrong, the game is cool, I play with mods that I download from the Steam workshop, the problem may be in bad mods, or they are not compatible with the version of the game, it needs to be monitored. I use about 15 models of trains, about 30 wagons. and about 10 planes, everything works fine. But when cities grow to 3-6 thousand people, it starts to hang a little. Therefore, I left only 4-5 cities, and developed them well, there are no freezes, the game works stably.

950 mods here. Last session lasted 5 hours. It does not start in 12.5 seconds but that's not the issue as I don't demand it to.
I was born before 1986 so my attention span is still okay.

What config are you playing the game on? Start with that.
I'm playing with more than 170 mods and the game runs fine on my mid-tier computer. And the add-on works fine too.
The problems you're facing probably come from your computer.

Mods work fine. If you have issues with mods is likely due to you activating them in bulk without checking for dependencies. Mods rarely break the game, though on the odd chance they do, another reason to add a few at a time.

Unmodded saves are pretty fast to load, even larger maps with lots of mods can be loaded very quickly, in comparison with other similar games, such as Cities Skylines.

What is your hardware? Low RAM and disk drive as opposed to SSD will slow loading times down.

Probably playing it on an old machine, with outdated software, and hardware too no doubt.

He's posted about this game on numerous occasions, going back a couple of years, whinging on about mods, and how those, and updates, have caused him problems, also whinged on about other games, and their mods too.

I was playing a mega map I'm using, one that I've been playing on for a good while too,
Played for about 5-6 hrs today, got a few hundred hours on it at present, and it's got about 850-900 mods approx, It took about 5 mins to load and it works fine, no crashes, no hanging. Frame rate of around 60 fps at present.

Sounds more like your PC cannot handle this game and/or you overdid it with mods.
Less is often more.

In my more than 1300 hours played, I have not had any problems with the game, except that some mod does not work well, which is removed and that's it... The only problem I have suffered is with my wife who says that TF2 abducts me .....

People are different. Of course. Some of those differences are tolerable. But imho who wants to quickly click'n'click'n'click et voilà it's finished is not with the fitting game.
Last week I spent 3 daily sessions à 5 hours to only carefully lay tracks and overpasses and do sane connections and road bridges without adding any line or buying any train.
I only added trains after the whole area was complete and whole logistic branches of trucks could be replaced at once.
A satisfactory thing when not only the transport moves from road to railroad, but also everything looks good; every bridge looks physically sane, every switch is nice and smooth and every trackside sign is at its place.

You need to go through your mods and find out which of your mosds is making the game crash.
The game itself is rather good, but some mods are bad, or do not work with other mods and these often make the game crahs.

I would suggest that the next time you have a problem with a game you ask for help before you go ahead and judge the game based on your problem.
