Suddenly doesn’t load anymore
Can anyone help? I have been playing TF2 for quite a while now and love the game. I have recently purchased a new computer and for the first few weeks it has worked fine. I recently downloaded some mods and since then the game doesn’t load (have had other mods previously and they have worked fine), either if I select one of my saved games or try to start a new one, it just brings the loading screen up, the loading bar goes nearly to the end and then just stops. If I click anything it brings up the windows “program is not responding, wait or close?” Just won’t to anything else. I have removed all mods, uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing.

Any help please as I am getting a fever not playing the fever!!

post or look in your stdout.txt file to find which mod is causing the game to crash; the game recently had a major update which broke many older mods.

other than what Metacritical said,
8GB only? sounds like a single RAM stick, so only single channel whichs slows down CPU and its IGPU in halve.
for a new Computer your HW is old. 16gb is more than recommended nowadays.

Have had a look and it makes no sense to me and is pages and pages long if I need to post all of that? I have removed all mods anyway so surely it is just the base game that is now not loading?? Sorry not very technical here😋

8 GB RAM is not a lot, so that could have been a reason why the game was working previously to the addition of the mods - many of which can be quite large, on the hundreds of MB in size.

Try playing on tiny maps with only a handful of cities and industries, if you have not done that yet. Larger maps will be more RAM heavy. If you can play successfully, that points to a memory problem.

Make sure you have enough space in your disk drives for page filing. Ideally, page file minimum and maximum allocation should be set to manual, and be the same, in your case, to something like 24 GB or 30 GB. The OS by default does it automatically, but sometimes have issues doing so.

Been playing base game (no mods) for more than a year with no problems - now suddenly saved games don't load. Same thing has occurred in Pharaoh - A New Era - played okay for a few weeks now saves won't reload

I am having the exact same issues for the past month or so. gets to 95% loaded and just as it is about to fade from loading screen to in game, the game hangs. the quicker test is if you go to main screen and try to switch graphics from Vulkan to OpenGL and then click save it crashes game. So it is something to do with Vulkan / OpenGL i think. My seetings are set to Vulkan so not sure what is going on ??? DEVS!!! need help. only way i get this going again is uninstall, delete all files and then re-install the 20 odd gigs. not good any updates?

So was playing fine for a few days after fresh install (with delux pack) and just went to load and it has hung on "Spawning animals... 99%) and there are no mods. this was a quick fre game mini map and took off delux mods so no mods. CRASH! grrr it is this graphics issue. only thing that crashes game when in settings is switching from Vulkan to OpenGL and click save and it doen't save and crashes also. so must be a driver issue???

You first need to verify the integrity of files. Right click on Transport Fever 2, click 'Properties,' go to 'Local Files,' press 'Verify Integrity of Local Game Files.' It will download this file along with any others that are corrupted or missing for the vanilla game.

The save file of the game just being crash and cant be loaded. I dont know how to solve the problem.

Just showing the message : the error is usually caused by modding. Some game resources contain incorrect data. I have played this save file since 2019. It is shocked the save file cant be loaded anymore.

If you removed a mod, that could lead to this issue. This might also occur due to a mod update.

Check the stdout log file in the local/crash folder, and post the last 15% or so here.

You can also post your save to the Workshop, people might have a look as long as it does not have a ton of mods to use.

I know this sounds crazy but do you have the Deluxe and the Early Supporters pack installed, if so have you tried right clicking on Transport Fever 2 then properties then DLC, you should see those packs listed, try unticking them then running the game, what happens?.
