Improved cockpit camera?
I read that there was added an Improved cockpit camera....

I opened a vehicle (train) windowd, clicked the camera button but I still had the old "in front of the vehicle" view.

I went into options / keybinds and saw there are 2 buttons "page up / page down" which changes cockpit camera position - But when clicking page up / page down, nothing changes....

This is the same when I try on boats, cars, busses... I even have tried with "enable camera tool" on (not sure what that does) but it does not change anything...

am I doing anything wrong ? I'm not see any "advancements" to the cockpit / drivers camera.... (shrug):jorji:

Did you try using the Arrow Keys on the your keyboard to move the camera position around?

Yes, but I could move the camera with wsad before that update..... I thought the new camera was supposed to actually be a "drivers" cam....?

Where did you read that it was improved? In a patch note? Or improved from the last game in the series? We have full control of the cockpit camera now, not just it's position but can freely look around as well. That wasn't possible in the previous game.

Most modders won't bother or don't know about camera positioning. In addition to WASD, The mouse & the arrow keys you can use you Z, X, Q, R, E, & F to move the camera postion to you liking.

The only changes I recall being mentioned is it now shows the hotkey tips after entering the cockpit view (PgUp/Dn and H), and the tips fade away after 5(?) seconds. But I think the camera view and operation is still the same as before.

I always use this mod tho so tbh I don't really know what are the vanilla camera views anymore:

I just know I switch views with PgUp/Dn, look around with mouse, and there are a *lot* of views on some vehicles (especially if it's a mod vehicle that already has its own views included).

if moving around was "all it did" - then I could do that before that update with the arrow keys / wsad... (shrug) oh well.... I thought the new camera would place us at the "drivers view" instead of "infront of the vehicle"

Yes these are the changes I mentioned. They're just showing the hotkeys on the screen, and then hiding them after 5 seconds to clean up the view. It's just UI tweaks, the camera itself is still the same.

The cam view mod I linked has driver views and many others.
