Failed to convert path to UTF-8
My game crashes when I try to launch it. It worked fine yesterday. Here are the error logs:

Is there a way to at least locate mod causing this? Unsubscribing every mod is a bummer.
Would be great if devs solve this issue completely, because I had crashes like this before, but during map loading.

what's it got to do with the devs? or do you mean the mod creator?
At least, show in the log, at which exact mod the game has crashed. Otherwise how mod creators supposed to know what causes this?
At most, show mods in the UI disabled due to incompatibility/errors/whatever.

you'd have thought, if they were still maintaining their mods, that they would test their mods to see if they were compatible with the new code.
No, but I might try to fix the mods myself, if only I had a clue what is the cause of this.
Come on, the game is crashing right from the fresh installation, it should at least fall back to disabled mods or so. This is definetly the devs' care.

then disable your mods, load them one at a time (or in bigger blocks) and work out which one is causing the issue.

the game is working perfectly fine for me. and, the devs just released an updated patch

Thanks for letting me know. I upgraded and it didn't help.
However what did help is switching to English (United States) locale (I have Windows)
I saw in logs that the game thinks that it is EN_US locale, but it was not the case.
Now the game works fine with all mods and even my old map was upgraded successfully.

I know that the locale stuff isnt a pleasant thing to deal with. But I hope devs will hear me and fix that.

My previous locale was EN_NL by the way, so nothing exotic like cyrillic or whatever.

UPD: Changed my locale to EN_NL again and run the game. And it was fine... So strange. Before, I removed all user data and did integrity check.

Just had this error myself.
It's the regional formating that it fails on.
I had mine on English (Europe) and had to change to English recommended or english german / english UK for it to work.
