No More Grid Cities
So I am no longer getting any gridded cities. Usually the game generates cities based on a grid, and there are ways to get around this. I wanted to a playthrough with grid based cites recently (Just as a random idea I've set myself), similar to doing only trains or one vehicle per line. However, all of my cities are generating with curved roads.

I've made sure there are no mods causing it, as well as double checking my settings.lua file which still has the angle to ".0". Therefore I cannot see why I am no longer getting any grid based cities. I can manually place them using a city generator, but any that are generated while generating the map or when a city upgrades and expands itself will have curved roads.

Are there any ways to fix this? As like I mentioned above, I wanted to do a playthrough with grids in place for my cities and using extremely straight roads.

Edit: So I found the cause of the problem. I use a mod called Town Tuning which allows you to edit towns in a variety of ways, form what goods it wants to population density. One thing I never really noticed though, is that in the mods menu where you enable/disable or change the load order of mods, selecting Town Tuning brings up some options, one of which is about change how AI interacts with corners in the city.

I thought that this meant there was a bug in the vanilla game when it came to corners and this was a fix, however it turns out that it actually lets the AI determine how to draw roads, such as long and straight, short and curved etc. Turning this option off has fixed the issue.

I remember fiddling to roadangle to 0 and... tbh I dont remember it working very well (or at all?) so I set an angle of like 1-5 deg (instead of 0).

Another way (for me) was to "help" the cities growing my way by building straight extended road, an investment that pays itself over time and/or demolish a few undesirables ones.

Sometimes... bulldozing the city center and redo it my way, using rails as guideline along road (blocking building expansion).

Cant' help more than that sry ;)

Thank you both. I think a combination of grid mods and manual manipulation of town growth is my best option. Funnily enough, I actually have both Grid Helper and Town Street Grid installed. My only gripe is that one of them has this weird issue where it places the roads above the ground, even on a superflat level.
