Unable to delete/modify station: Internal error
I have a broken station that is completely locked in place. I can't delete it nor do anything through the modify mode. All other stations are fine. When I use the bulldozer (both in and outside the station editor) or try to add platforms/tracks anywhere, the game shows a hovering error:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2842439946

The console shows the following error:

C:\GitLab-Runner\builds\1BJoMpBZ\0\ug\urban_games\train_fever\src\Game\ecs\TerrainAlignmentSystem.cpp:169: class std::vector<struct CVec2i,class std::allocator<struct CVec2i> > __cdecl ecs::TerrainAlignmentSystem::GetAffectedBlocks(const struct Box2 &) const: Assertion `bbox.bounds[0].x <= bbox.bounds[1].x' failed.

Exception type: Fatal error

Details:

Assertion Failure: Assertion `bbox.bounds[0].x <= bbox.bounds[1].x' failed.

In file: C:\GitLab-Runner\builds\1BJoMpBZ\0\ug\urban_games\train_fever\src\Game\ecs\TerrainAlignmentSystem.cpp:169

In function: class std::vector<struct CVec2i,class std::allocator<struct CVec2i> > __cdecl ecs::TerrainAlignmentSystem::GetAffectedBlocks(const struct Box2 &) const

Things I've tried:
- Delete all connected tracks
- Delete all lines and remove all trains
- Delete all surrounding roads/buildings
- Smoothen/change the terrain around the station
- Reload savegame several times

I'm running out of ideas, but I really want to fix this savegame because I put a lot of work into it. Basically I just want to delete the station because it's just a big broken thing near my city now.

Do you have an autosave from before you tried to edit it?
I'm not sure you can get out of the lock, but if you can resolve the issue before editing it then you should be able to carry on as normal.
Are you using any station mods?

I believe it is likely a "bad interaction" between different station mods.

Try deactivating the used station mods from the game save, which should replace the stations with a placeholder. Demolish the station, save, go to the load screen, and before you load reactivate the mods again.

Unfortunately all autosaves are too recent so they have the broken station. I did check my old manual saves and I found the exact point between two saves where the station can be deleted, and where it's showing the error. Strangely enough it seems I wasn't even building in the area of the station at the point of those saves. The station looks exactly the same in both saves.

However, these saves are way back so not really something I'd want to roll back to.

The broken station is a mod indeed, it's the NL Modular Station one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1957064125
I did not have this issue before by using this station, also in the early saves it was fine. Have no idea what caused this. I wouldn't mind to stop using this mod, but then I need to be able to delete the station first.

As I said, try removing this mod in the Load Game menu. You should be able to load the game still - although now and then the game will still crash as before the update.

If you are able to load the game, try demolishing the affected station, which will appear as some sort of generic placeholder. If you are successful, save using a different save name.

Load the game again, after reactivating the removed mod. This step is optional, but recommended if you have modules being used in other stations.

That sounded like a very likely reason for the error indeed so I deactivated the station mod and loaded the game. Like you said the assets are replaced by floaty cubes. However the error is still there.

I've also tried to load a savegame with ALL station mods deactivated, and even loaded a savegame with zero mods. The error is still there unfortunately. I really don't understand what caused the station to break, especially because between the two very old saves where it happened I the station looks exactly the same and I believe I was building in a completely different corner of the map.

The error is not very specific about what's wrong. IIs a way to force-delete the station somehow?

Station modules are one of the glitchiest aspects of the game, at least when multiple module mods are involved. Unfortunately is hard to predict when it may happen.

Do you have any other older save games? And by that, not autosaves, but regular save files. It is a good idea to do multiple saves of the same map and keep older ones around, just in case something like this happens.

You could try using the Build With Collision mod, and stack another station with the same parameters exactly on top of the existing one. Do your best to merge them so they look like one. Use assets to further spruce it up.

Yeah, those older files I mentioned are manual saves. Unfortunately the last manual save that has a not-broken station is pretty far back so I have a LOT of work to do over.

I rather not put an identical station on top of it with the collision mod suggestion. I actually wanted to delete that modded station and replace it with a vanilla one because I hated the mixed platform types.

I'm running out of things to try and I've spent a whole evening on it. Maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and go back to that old save.
