Annoying railway crossing sound

Hello!
I just started a new game and there it was again: the most annoying sounding railway crossing.
And I can hear it everywhere, whether I am near a crossing or not.

I can not be the only one with this issue, right?

So how can I disable this?

Are you referring to the 'Horn' waypoint that you can put near railway crossings (or anywhere for that matter). Are you, possibly, using the 'Horn' waypoint instead of the normal waypoint?.

Also, I've noticed that trains seem to use their horns more frequently anyway, now, when exiting a depot or, possibly, when turning around at a dead end station. Could these be the sounds you are referring to?.

Road vehicles, ships, trams (even aircraft) make a sound now when in 'cockpit' view and pressing H, but, as I have said, they also seem to use the horns (or whatever), without prompting now.

Nope. He means the sound of the crossing itself:

• Go near a crossing and wait until a train comes
  
• As soon as the "bing bing bing" starts, zoom out and go elsewhere
  
• You still hear the "bing bing bing"

exactly this!

I solved the issue myself:

The mod "Besserer UG Bahnübergang" https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1945239451
was the reason for this annoying sound!

The system in generally annoying as you can only define the audio file in the config, but not the hearing distance as in all the other sound sets.
