Suggestion : x10 and x25 speed
Hi!

I do not know why you force players to wait like that but it is horrible. I do like to slow down time to watch a vehicle or line, but that is just the exception to the rule. I play x4 all the time and that speed seems to be the default speed, x 1 and x 2 should be slow motion versions.

Please, give us x10 and x25 speeds.

I'm sure they'll be right on that...
once CPU speeds hit 15 GHz.
Riiiighht...

Seriously man, I have games that have x10 and x20 speed with tons of units, not the CPU there... also, was playing the same games with a 2011 pc!

Also, this game has barely half of TTD has in terms of content, no way it has a high demand on CPU.

Just play some time until you got 20.000 citizens and 150 trains etc. and then compare 1x to 4x.
See?
Before you get to that point, you need to wait many real hours. Sucks. And no one is forcing you to play x25 with 150 trains, but with 2-3 trains and one or two trucks lines yes, that would be a blessing.

And when you have to wait in a game, it is a failure on the part of the devs. They need to give us the option to accelerate time more. The game feels like an early access one, it lacks alot of things.

Waiting? So seeing a train accelerate and work its way is waiting? Well, that's a subjective opinion, but I use 1x 99% of the time.
I even pause the game when I build anything.
other games do not simulate every game agent, so good luck with the stutter when you get really going.
Will not work unless they get rid of the agent system.

There are games with ultra high speed forward, but they do not use an agent-based system where every single passenger and cargo unit is simulated.

Well, having the choice of doing so is nice. How you personally play the game is your thing, but having the option is what is important.

If you want to wait looking at a train rolling that is you, I want to play a game not look at an idler.

The 2x and 4x speed do not work on some of my maps as is. I click on them and there is no apparent speed up.

I'm not complaining about the game because the problem is caused by me putting to much stuff on the map. I'm just agreeing with others. That higher speeds wouldn't work all that well in most cases.
Weird, never had any trouble with those buttons. I am also always on x4 never on any other speed, it is just too darn slow.

Again, it is not about you, it is about giving players a choice. You can waste your life looking at slow moving objects on your screen at x1 speed, or you can play at x20 to get where you want then you switch to x4 or something slower to see if what you did was good, and so on.

The game is so slow, I need to play another game to have fun at the same time. lol

Some people like to see the train fight against gravity and pull 4000t of iron ore slightly uphill.
Others need arcade racing games.
x32 speed is already in the game. While in game, go to settings > advanced > check debug mode. Close the window and press
(right) alt+D. where it says debug speed you can move it up to x32.

TPF2 is a demanding game. x32 speed will not last very long. I frown when I see my late game save still running at 144fps when zoomed all the way into the ground or water. Its 15fps if have an entire city into view.

You are not getting it.

This is not us being against the idea.

Using higher speeds is unfeasible, in most situations anyway, due to technical limitations.

As noted above, on large enough maps, even 2x and 4x speed will not work anymore, or there will be hardly any difference. And even on regular maps in the beginning, 10x and 25x may be too much to keep track.

As I said, the developers would have to remove the agent-based system, and replace it with a simpler way to calculate traffic, something like oTTD for example.

They better improve their game. I think I will go back to play TTD, it has more mechanics and competitors and much more. :D
They cannot improve the game "very much", just to some intend. Simulation games with agents depend on single core performance and as long as the industry is not capable of providing better CPU architectures that even make it possible to create programming languages to have parallelized simulation (agent) based games, even a 5 Ghz 32-core CPU will not do any difference to a 5 Ghz 2-core CPU (besides background processes of the OS).
