There is at least one mod on the workshop which allows the construction of larger stations, though I have never used it myself:

I do not know if it works in the current version of the game or not.

You can also place two or more stations side by side, and make them look like they are one through assets and mods.
There isn't a limit of lines per station's (as far as I know). My guess is you mean Platforms? Several Lines can use the same platform. But the number of Platforms are Limited Because the Station can only be a Specific length/width, which you can enlarge with the mods above.
are there any specific mods i can look at and should i only use one of them as there are many stations to choose from
If platform number is what you want, you can download the "Lepizig HbF" station, is a terminal station with 25 or so passenger platforms and you will struggle to fill every single one of them with passenger services, lol.
You probably do not need 800 long passenger trains, so you can increase the number of platforms in a custom station by leaving a gap between "station" tracks, and manually place a regular piece of track in between. Because of the gap, the game will see two platforms instead of one. Something like:
P P P P P P P P P
T T T T - T T T T
Where - P is the platform, T a regular modular piece of station track, and - a gap leftover for a regular piece of track.
Because of the lack of proper timetabling, this configuration has some limitations when it comes to servicing train lines, to prevent trains from blocking each other. Also, because the game does not recognize this dual platform as a single one, very long trains will suffer from loading penalty.
