CO-OP MULTIPLAYER -> HEAR US!
We've been talking about co-op mode or multiplayer for a while now, and I think it would be important for the developers to listen to us, because if I haven't played much for a while it's because I'm 'm bored playing alone and not being able to share live and manage a railway project with several people!

Since Mashinky added multiplayer mode, it's more fun to play and share.
Even on Factorio with multiplayer trains it's more fun.

This is for me the big weak point of Transport Fever 2. Even if this is a paid DLC for the multiplayer mode, so be it, but at least it will already be good news and it will give me back, like many I think, the desire to happy to play again.

NO TO MULTIPLAYERS.

Let's hope the Transport Fever series NEVER gets multiplayer, since that is very likely to dumb down the game to such an extent it no longer appeals to single-player players like myself.

And that's ok! Let's just also hope that there comes a similar game, but with multiplayer (from these devs or other).

Yes, and it won't work correctly anyway. Nothing these devs have done works 100% even after this great big last patch. Tons of little bugs and stupidities in the game starting from the track laying or the new guide tool.

I have not seen any issues myself in this update, other than the rather poor auto snap implementation, or past updates for that matter.

In which case, get a game that has multiplayer, there are several to choose from - there's is no need to spoil a perfectly good single player game because the available MP games aren't, apparently, good enough.

Perhaps because
(a) there are not enough people willing to pay enough to make producing such games economically viable?
(b) MP doesn't make sense in this genre?

In which case you could simply purchase one of the games that does have MP, it surely doesn't have to be this one.

I'm beginning to suspect that all the transport oriented games that are available with MP are so bad that their players are just deeply and incredibly envious of SP games that are so much better... Now, that is sad!

Please point me in the direction of a game very similar to Transport Fever 2 which has coop?

The closest I find is Railway Empire 2 and honestly, that game was a blast! But I'm missing the modern take on the transport management genre, which TF2 has, and if another game would come along and deliver a modern rake on the genre (like TF2) and make it as good and fun in coop as Railway Empire 2 I'd be completely satisfied.

Also, adding multiplayer, if viable, is not in order to ruin the single player experience for anyone. You nay-sayers seem so oblivious to the fact that both a great single player aspect and a multiplayer aspect of a game can coexist.

And I do understand that it's a question about demand and profit for the developers. This isnpretty much why we are here asking for multiplayer. We're showing the developers that there's an actual demand and people interested in playing games like these games in coop. The decision to exclude multiplayer from this game has already been made, but by voicing our interests for multiplayer might affect a future game from the same, or another, developer within this genre.

You don't need to be so hostile about people actually wanting to play with eachother. There are far more good single player games in the world than multiplayer games and no one is asking the developers to make a worse single player experience. Of course the games should still be fully playable and immersive solo as well. You're not actually threatened, so why not let us voice our interests in multiplayer without jumping us?

Good arguments

I think Multiplayer could be great but it must be optional as it can be a great game to play alone too, especially for the not as social like myself.
That is ignoring the physical limitations that it would most likely bring given the dev team size as mentioned upthread

Yeah, maybe with the new technology is will maybe to be possible.

Look it's not going to happen, there are not going to be any more updates to this game, maybe (I hope not) in the next game.

resurrecting because it's a good idea, but OH MY GOSH y'all are stupid. Of course multiplayer is opt-out, it's optional. Transport Fever is indeed not an MMO and certainly will not be. If you want an example of multiplayer done right, go check out OpenTTD. It's free. I do not understand what anyone is talking about when they say multiplayer will "spoil the game" because singleplayer should still be a viable option.

Thank you! Yes, there's no reason to be cynical.
