You have to also remember they've work on the game engine a lot also as it's their own, they are just porting it across to the mac.

Maybe trying to compete with Cities: Skylines rather than near obscure genre of Transport Logistics Sims.
Shame really, TF to TpF really showed promise of a progressive logistics sim. Now they seem pretty much ready to be bought up.
Looks like this time they are hiring more software devs, rather than artists.

Let's hope they make it possible / much easier to implement trolley buses (a bus with a tram-style overhead wire), guided buses (rubber-wheeled vehicles guided by some type of rail), light rail ("fast trams"), street-running trams and trains, underground metros, monorail, skyrail, dual-mode carriages*... in TF3.

Just providing heavy rail, buses and trams might be good enough for an initial release, but it definitely falls short of expectations for a game that has matured for several years.
Just as they absolutely should make the game allow for left-hand side drive straight out of the box (the British/imperial way of doing things is NOT just some niche application you can leave up to modders) and three-aspect rail signaling where computer vehicles drive at half speed when facing a yellow light (which would help IMMENSELY in minimizing trains stopping and starting over and over again).
