is there a way for truck to unload partially for multiple stop?
Hi there,

is there a way you can make the truck to drop off partially in multiple stops (e.g unload 50% at one stop and the another 50% for the next one), instead of having to creating another line and find room in the truck station for that separate line which is for the exact same thing just so I can have a better coverage area in the town?

Just put in another truck unload point on the same line and the game will sort it automatically. there is no need to start a new line for the same thing.

Try this, go to line management, from there you can adjust load and unload for the line for any goods and you can adjust % for load and unload, let me know.

Unloading is either yes or no not by %

that's what I thought so. It appears that only loading has option to specify the %

Bossbill1 - I have tired to add another drop off point to an existing line. It didn't work. The first stop got all the stuff and the 2nd stop had none.

Sorry you are right sorry for the bad info, the % there is only for ship or plane with multiple compartments : ex : load 50% for one good and load 50 % fot the other goods.

It will work, I have multiple stops for fuel in 3 citys and all working properly.
It will not split it 50/50 but as time goes by and more fuel ( or whatever it is ) that is required will make it to the new stop for unloading.

Edit....... If you check this screenshot, Truck 6 is at the start of a run, truck 4 is in the middle and truck 45 is at the end of the run, All trucks have fuel to drop off on a multi drop run.

so it will be automatically divided based on demand I guess? Thanks I will try it again and let it run for a bit.

Yes, it just takes some time. I found this out just last night. I have a food production factory supplying food to multiple cities. It will allocate to different cities how many breads go to a specific stop, based on demand. I have one train line taking all of it, and after about 2 years, they were all dropping at all three cities with amounts relevant to the demand of the city. That allocating happens at the producers, and they tell the trucks how many to drop at specific spots. As an irl truck driver, it made complete sense as soon as I figured that out.

Thank you. it did work but I was only doing it in a single city with multiple drop offs. So you could do it with a truck station to multiple drop off that are in different cities right? I was always wondering if there is a way to better distribute the supply.

I wish the developer will add in feature like a warehouse or pricing (like rise of industry) for product in the next update

How do you imagine a warehouse would function exactly, that would be different from how stations already work now?

I too would like to see different product pricing. But there is almost no chance of such a feature being added to this game.

The destiination of each package is assigned by the factory. Your job is to deliver it there. The factory also assign what line(s) to use, cheapest and/fastest.

Just like DHL, FedEx and the other real life tranportation companies cannot decide to unload x % at point A and y % at point B.

Going back to a single town/city where you need multiple truck stops to cover the area of demand:

Yes, a single line to both stops will eventually get deliveries made to both stops, but it's inefficient, particularly with smaller vehicles early in the game. FWIW my usual approach is to drop off the product to an external station just outside the town, and have (usually) two pick-up internal truck stations in its catchment area. Then a separate line goes from each of the internal truck stations (or from each of two terminals in one such station) to one of the two truck stops. The advantage is that the higher-demand route is almost always shorter than the alternative 2-drop route, and the lower-demand route can be set to run only when required, with fewer trucks (sometimes only one truck).

This approach (whether one line or two) also lets you have higher-maintenance trucks only on the internal line(s), you don't need higher maintenance on the external delivery line.
