Very bad condition, do you buy new train every time?
I find the maintenance part annoying. I dont change the maintenance on every vehicle every time it gets bad and very bad. I just buy new. Do you too?

Is there a mod to make it like in Transport Fever 1 ? Much better with 30 years until new.

Or a mod to auto set mantenance?

I usually ignore it

Go to vehicle manager, select all vehicles, set maintenance to very high, wait 2 years. All vehicles are now "new".

That being said - Maintenance only matters for stuff that goes through residential districts and even then it is very minor thing ( like -30% town growth, where you should reach +200% easily with all transport needs fulfilled ).

Nope, I just set maintenance to High for every vehicle.
I'm hoping that the dev's will add an option to be able to set the maintenance default level rather than have to resort to a mod.

Like Kniff I just ignore it. Vehicles being in bad condition means very little. If the pollution does get to be particularly bad in the towns then like uzurpatorex said, I just select all vehicles and set the maintenance to very high for a year or two then put it back down to normal.

or if money isnt so important any longer, simply let it on very high if your goal is to maximize the city sizes

In my current game I have over $10 billion and make half a billion per year in profit and it is only 1950, normal calendar speed. But for some reason I still can't bring myself to waste money by increasing the maintenance on everything indefinitely. It just seems so wasteful considering how little it accomplishes.

Then this mean you gonna need to put effort into manually replace everything over time which can get almost a fulltime job depending on the size of your rolling stock :)

just select all vheicles and put maintenance higth for 3 m all gonna be great ...even if u lose money u will get it after couse the emissions gone be ligther if all is well set no problem
:steammocking: u got the menu on the botton rigth to check wenn all are very good in condition

Another argument to invest into maintance is that your vehicles look better/ like new then. (not immediately but over the time)

Thank you. It really only takes 2 months in game from very bad to very good.

Before it was expensive to buy new all the time. Now I got 2,5 billion :-)

You must be playing on 1/4 calendar speed. At the default speed it takes just over a year.

Yes 1/4 calendar to match 4 speed, so time does not go too fast.

Very bad condition has no real effect.
Only 2-4 emission points more, it doesn't cost you money to use extremely old vehicles.
The old system was a lot more realistic.

Therefore it's the best to simply ignore the condition and drive with completely dirty trains :D
